cape cod canal rental

luma Boylston,Ma
Review Submitted: December 20, 2007 Date of Stay: July 2007
My family and I stayed during a week in the summer and had a very enjoyable stay. The house was very clean and the rental owners were extremely pleasant to deal with and very helpful with any of our needs. The view of the canal was a nice change from the usual Cape Cod beach scenes.
The only thing we didn't anticipate was the how fra it was to many things. Although we were told it was residential, it was more off the beaten path then we thought it would be.But if that is what you are looking for then this is an ideal place.

Ultimate Vacation Retreat

Theoden Acton, MA
Review Submitted: January 31, 2010 Date of Stay: August 2009
We stayed in this delightful home for 2 weeks in August ‘09. After 20 yrs of exploring various areas of the cape and renting numerous houses in many areas, we have fallen in love with Pocasset and this home. It is on a quiet street in a quiet area of a quiet, quaint town. There is a beautiful view of water from the living room, kitchen and patio. The beach, while small and a little rocky, was delightful and was maybe 50 yards from the end of the driveway and essentially private. I don’t recall more than 8 people at any given time on the beach at once during our stay (and we were at the beach every day). Although tucked away in this quintessential Cape town, there are maybe a dozen golf courses within 20 minutes drive and Falmouth, with all its restaurants and classic downtown and many activities is about as far.
The house was one of the nicest summer rentals we have ever enjoyed. It was clean and bright and had about the least summer cottage smell that you can have being a seasonal home right on the water. The kitchen was adequate and, I understand , has just been redone. The rest of the house was nice and more than ample size and the air conditioning a major plus. It was reassuring to have the owner next door as well as readily accessible by cell phone, and she was delightful to deal with, but we had no issues during our stay. We are looking forward to our return this August for another 2 weeks.

WONDERFUL VACATION PROPERTY

nhs17830 Wrentham, Massachusetts
Review Submitted: January 26, 2010 Date of Stay: August 2009
Our family loved this adorable cottage when we visited this past summer. We had so much fun swimming in the ocean and sitting on the private beach just steps from the cottage. Many nights we enjoyed our meals sitting on the brick patio overlooking the water. The house had everything we needed to enjpy a relaxing cape cod vacation while still feeling we were at home. We took long walks on the long windy private road, NO TRAFFIC. As long as it is available, we plan on returning again. We highly recommend this hidden gem.

Disappointing Rental

Joey T Unoinville, CT
Review Submitted: September 8, 2009 Date of Stay: August 2009
View pictured is not the view from the rental property. The view is from Sue's back yard that is not accessable to renters.Cottage was full of cobwebs, was not cleaned before our arrival and smelled of must in the living room. Oven and outdoor grill were dirty, both smoked when first used from not being cleaned. Iron did not work. We had to replace several bulbs, 1/2 of the lamps did not work.
Never met Sue during our stay so there was no customer service.
Cottage has alot of cosmetic issues the bathrooms were particularly bad. Bedroom located on lower level was dark and dingy and smelled. Paint is peeling on duct work on lower level. Drawer to dresser in one of the bedrooms was broken. Drawer in kitchen was broken. Skylight in kitchen was loaded with bugs. Screen missing in bedroom window. The back screen door could be pushed open latch not working. The front door would only open with alot of force.
Dryer vent not vented to outside.
Very disappointed and would not recommed this rental property. The description given is misleading paticularly with the view that is shown to what view you actually have at the cottage.
Owner's Response: There are new pictures in place showing beautiful waterviews from living room, kitchen/dining area and master bedroom of this seaside cottage. The problem arose with these particular tenants as they arrived the day of a major tropical storm after calling me and saying they were not coming until the storm had subsided . This left me with no time to get the house properly ready for their tenancy. The outdoor grill was not able to be cleaned due to heavy rain. Many of the lamps are on a wall switch only. There is now a new state of the art kitchen, new dresser in master bedroom, and all duct work has been replaced with wood encasements. I have fully addressed all the other concerns in this review and the propertyis ready for 2010 rental year. I always leave my cell phone number to call me at any time if there are any problems. I feel my tenants have a right to their privacy, but I can be reached anytime day or night by my cell phone. I even offered these particular tenants a boat to use for fishing and they could bring their dog. These tenants chose not to contact me during their stay, and I believe it was because they were smoking in the house and did not want me to know. All these tenants had to do was call me on my cell phone, and I would have addressed their concerns immediately. I have been renting this property for the past 10 years and have never had one complaint from anyone. I have been booked every week June July August and sometimes in September with many returning tenants over the past 10 years. I will always strive to better this rental property for future tenants and be as helpful as I can to them.

Fantastic Cape Cod Getaway

Robin and Don Milford, CT
Review Submitted: June 23, 2009 Date of Stay: June 2009
I just got back from my Cape Cod vacation and just had to share with everyone what a great find this cottage was. Everything was clean and stocked with so many helpful items from a fully stocked kitchen with pots, pans, plates, spices etc... to beach chairs and towels. It is truely a home away from home. The view is spectacular and the beach is great. There is more than enough room for a family of 5. There were so many things to do in the area. Sue is a pleasure to rent from, so accommodating and friendly. I am so happy my family and I found this gem. I recommend it to anyone wanting to get away from it all, but not so far away you can't go anywhere.
