Ultimate Vacation Retreat

We stayed in this delightful home for 2 weeks in August ‘09. After 20 yrs of exploring various areas of the cape and renting numerous houses in many areas, we have fallen in love with Pocasset and this home. It is on a quiet street in a quiet area of a quiet, quaint town. There is a beautiful view of water from the living room, kitchen and patio. The beach, while small and a little rocky, was delightful and was maybe 50 yards from the end of the driveway and essentially private. I don’t recall more than 8 people at any given time on the beach at once during our stay (and we were at the beach every day). Although tucked away in this quintessential Cape town, there are maybe a dozen golf courses within 20 minutes drive and Falmouth, with all its restaurants and classic downtown and many activities is about as far.
The house was one of the nicest summer rentals we have ever enjoyed. It was clean and bright and had about the least summer cottage smell that you can have being a seasonal home right on the water. The kitchen was adequate and, I understand , has just been redone. The rest of the house was nice and more than ample size and the air conditioning a major plus. It was reassuring to have the owner next door as well as readily accessible by cell phone, and she was delightful to deal with, but we had no issues during our stay. We are looking forward to our return this August for another 2 weeks.
