The house is in a totally private location but near a village. It is newly built architect designed completed 6 years ago. All furnishings and fittings are modern.
The house is split level with terraces, gardens, patios, bedrooms and bathrooms on both levels. There is an internet connections. The kitchen is well designed with all mod cons including dish washer and washing machine.
Built on a hillside, the elevated position, with splendid views, brings cooling breezes and at night no air-conditioning or mosquito protection is necessary. Peace and quiet are guaranteed, but the pool and ample space on sunny or shady terraces, will allow everyone their own space to play.
The house has a studio for its artist owners and the house and gardens have beautifully designed features and artistic sculptural objects. The exterior and interior are beautifully designed for comfort, convenience and visual interest.

The owners, Ian Chapman and Gordon Cooke, are artist/designers who use the property to work and teach ceramics. Courses in 'Walking and Potting in the Alentejo' are offered every September. Interested in garden design also for the past six years Gordon has been trying to make a bare, hot hillside into a special garden to complement the design of the house.

La maison a beaucoup de charme, la piscine a ravi les enfants (12 et 6 ans) et le village est lové dans une très belle région que nous avons eu plaisir à découvrir grâce aux indications des propriétaires. Je recommande cette maison aux amoureux de la nature qui recherchent l'authentique.
The house is in a totally private location but near a village. The summer climate is hot, but the elevated position, with splendid views, brings cooling breezes and at night no air-conditioning or mosquito protection is necessary. The peaceful surroundings will allow you to relax or venture into the completely unspoilt and authentic rural area of pine, eucalyptus and cork oak forests. Sheep, goats, pigs and other animals are around as this is an area of simple rural economy with picturesque ruins of wind mills and houses as well as the prettily painted 'low houses' of the Alentejo. Access by car is good with a short private track leading to the house and shaded parking. You can go from the house either up the hill to the back or down the fields to the village with many wonderful local walks through unspoilt countryside or a pleasant drive to the Atlantic coast which is an untouched nature reserve.
