ROMANTIC STUDIO WITH SHORE ACCESS

We've just had the most wonderful long weekend here at Joy's studio in South Bristol. Not happy at all to be leaving today, as it feels that we've stumbled upon a little piece of heaven. Even during two rainy spring days, Joy's studio was bright and airy, warm and relaxing. So much of that is because of how Joy has created a space that is at once home-like and familiar, and also a special world apart.

Joy has included in her studio all the accoutrements you'd want in a well-set-up weekend cottage - all the comforts of home, and just as carefully chosen. Most appreciated by us were the beautiful works of art all around her studio, the fully outfitted kitchen with everything from a coffee grinder to high-quality knives and cast-iron pans, the nice little deck with feeders that draw an incredible variety of birds, and the thoughtful layout that manages to provide lots of different activity areas all in the space of a single open-plan room that feels much larger than it probably is thanks to the high-vaulted ceiling.

The grounds around her studio are also great, as the building is nestled in a northern hardwood and pine forest and surrounded by natural landscaping - with access to Long Cove is just a short walk through the woods.

Beyond her place being very nice, Joy is - as others have mentioned - a wonderfully warm and friendly host. It's no wonder the people who've found her studio come back again and again.
