Private Estate located on 5-Acre Peninsula

This home is beyond lovely, the amenities divine, and the surrounding scenery is so picturesque it only gets better with each turn you take. My husband and I stayed with our 6 yr old son, who loved walking down to the water to skip stones, sit on the dock, and cast some lines for fishing. It is a perfect spot for relaxing and taking in the quiet sounds of nature, enjoying the fresh seafood from right there in the water, and strolling around the neighboring areas. The home is quiet, spacious, well-kept with a classy sense of country style, and it's all only a short walk to general, local town shops and eateries and just a few minutes drive to fabulous local shopping, more great Maine eating, and all kinds of artisan boutiques and historic venues.
If I could move to this home on Cundy's Harbor I would in a heartbeat, though I completely understand the owner never wanting to give it up. The home is splendidly appointed and maintained with all conveniences imaginable. The views are outstanding, and I spent much of my time communing with nature in the garden, on the patio, and through the lens of my SLR -- the scenery does not disappoint and I have so many photos of exquisite sunsets I can't decide which to frame for my home. Just looking at them makes we want to go back sooner rather than later. We will certainly return, again and again!

We would not recommend renting this house. First, the closets and drawers are filled with owners’ things. In fact, none of us bothered to unpack because there was so much stuff inside cabinets, drawers, and each of the closets in the bedrooms. There is also stuff left out on every surface in each of the common rooms (the den, the main living room). Second, the beds in the master bedroom on the first floor and the bedroom on the second floor (last bedroom at end of hall with one bed only) were hugely uncomfortable. We had to put our mattress on the floor in the downstairs bedroom in order to sleep. Finally, the refrigerator (freezer as well) and kitchen pantry were cluttered with other people’s stuff—maybe a few things are fine, but it was filled to the brim with stuff, and again, difficult to store our own stuff. There is also poison ivy in and around the property which definitely, should not be there.
The house is on a beautiful piece of land with great views--if owner could get rid of all of the stuff in the closets and drawers, and replace the mattreses, then it would be a very good rental.
