There are several beautiful churches and architectural examples of fine homes surrounding the Bethel Hill Common. On Broad Street, there are several fine homes and you will find many inns, restaurants and shops . Bethel Village is the most beautiful mountain village in Maine. Bethel Village is located in the western lakes and mountain region of Maine. The mighty Androscoggin River weaves its way through the fertile valley offering beautiful scenery throughout the year. Each season brings spectacular views up and down the river to the Mahoosuc Mountain Range. We are only a short 1/2 hour drive to Mount Washington and the Presidential Mountains of New Hampshire. The surrounding area is dotted with lakes and streams and there are many waterfalls, swimming holes and covered bridges in the immediate area.

Where to start! Of course there is skiing and golf, but that is only the beginning. Summer activities include; golf, swimming, boating, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, antiqueing, bird watching, rock hounding, hiking, biking, horse back riding and fishing.There is a cinema and adventure park with a water slide, mini golf and a fun laser tag. In the fall there is also excellant foliage to add to the summer activities. There are 7 golf courses witin a 1/2 hour drive of Bethel, including The Bethel Inn and Country club in the village and the new course at Sunday River with its fantastic scenic mountain views. The winter brings several attractions. There is downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, dog sledding, snow shoeing, winter climbing and snow tubing. The destination ski resort at Sunday River is just outside the village and there is also the smaller family oriented Mount Abram about a 15 min drive to the south.
