Two bedrooms, sleeps four

Charming, two bedroom, furnished, clean, tastefully decorated cottage. Great location! Nestled in a quiet courtyard, surrounded by the beauty of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of town, yet only 15-20 minute walk to town, seven minute bicycle ride and less than five minutes with the shuttle bus, which stops a few feet away from the cottage. Only minutes to Cisco Beach and other major beaches. The Sweet Briar is accessible to the Madaket and Surfside Bike Paths. Backyard with grill and lovely views of nature, picnic table, chairs. The Sweet Briar is fully equipped with all the comforts of home. The Sweet Briar is professionally cleaned before and after your arrival. Home includes two bedrooms, one bath, open living/ dining/ kitchen area, hardwood floors, maple dinette set seats four, remodeled bath with new tiles, flower boxes on front of cottage.

Transportation on Nantucket: It is not necessary to bring your vehicle on Nantucket. However, if you choose to bring your vehicle you must call the Steamship Authority and make your reservations far in advance to ensure the week you are sailing. Nantucket offers bicycles, moped and car rentals. As well, the National Regional Transit Authority (NRTA) Island Shuttle goes almost everywhere on the island. The Miacomet Loop stops right outside the courtyard where the Sweet Briar is located. Service is every twenty minutes. Service is from Memorial Day to Columbus Day weekend. It is recommended that you arrive to the cottage by car or taxi. Rentals in the area: Nantucket Windmill Auto Rental, Budget Car Rental, Affordable Rentals, Nantucket Jeep Rental, Bicycle & Moped Rentals, Young's Bicycle Shop, Nantucket Bike Shop, Easy Riders Bicycle Rentals (free delivery).

Restaurants on Nantucket: There are many restaurants on Nantucket to choose from. Here are some restaurants as suggestions: Inexpensive-Moderate: Fairgrounds Restaurant (great salad bar and early bird specials), Kitty Murtagh's, Brotherhood of Thieves, AK Diamonds, LOLA Global Bistro & Sushi Bar, Sushi by Yoshi, The SeaGrille, Arno's on Main Street, Even Keel, Cinco. Other restaurants (expensive): Topper's at the Wauwinet, The Chanticleer. For good take-out inexpensive seafood for the entire family (or dine on the deck), Sayle's Fresh or Cooked Seafood. There are new ethnic restaurants that have currently opened such as El Rincon Salvadoreno on Old South Road. Also The Harbor Wok at the Jared Coffin House on Broad Street, Center of Town.

Golf in the Area: The Miacomet Golf Course, located at 12 West Macomet Road, is right up the street off of Hummock Pond Road. The Miacomet Golf Course is Nantucket's only 18 hole public golf course. There is a lovely restaurant on site, and also a driving range.

I have been renting on Nantucket since the late seventies. I wanted to buy my own little cottage at some point. When I saw the Sweet Briar for sale I knew that the Sweet Briar was the right one for me. I wanted to share my home with guests so they, too, may enjoy an affortable vacation on Nantucket.

It is only one mile and a half from downtown Nantucket and secluded enough in a nice courtyard and views of nature, for privacy. The best of both worlds!

Bartlett Farms is down the road. Cisco Breweries, The Cisco Winery, offer tours for each. Bartlett Farms offers fresh, home cooked prepared foods, grocery and produce, desserts, as well as plants, flowers, decorations, lectures and more. Take a ride down Bartlett Farm Road to take in the beauty of nature.

The brand new Hummock Pond Bike Path is right outside the courtyard. Ride to Cisco Beach in one direction or in the other direction, connect with the Surfside Bike Path leading to Surfside Beach. In another direction connect with the Madaket bike path, where you can explore the Sanford Farms trails for a breathtaking hike to the ocean of the south shore. Bike path leads to Dionis and Madaket Beach. Approaching Hummock Pond Road from another direction, connect with the Surfside Bike Path, leading to Surfside Beach. A short walk or ride down Hummock Pond Road, view the constellation at the famous Loin Observatory, affiliated with the Maria Mitchell Association. Lectures are available twice a week at 9:00 pm or after dusk. The Maria Mitchell Association provides nature & bird walks, as well as varioius lectures. Also visit the Maria Mitchell Science Library.

Golf: Miacomet Golf 18 hole golf course is only 1 1/2 miles away. They have a wonderful restaurant on site as well.
