VILLAGEART MOUNTAIN HIDEAWAY (NANA'S MOUNTAIN) EXCEPTIONAL VIEWS & PRIVACY

Boulder Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Living Room, Kitchen, Deck, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-5)

All you need to bring is your clothes and groceries. The HideAway is complete with all the essentials of home. The Perfect Vacation, Honeymoon, or Writer's Retreat -- Wonderful Seclusion, Breathtaking Views of Mountains and Plains, Natural Beauty all around, but easy access to fine shopping, restaurants, art museums, etc -- the Best of Boulder. Be 'Away from It All' but still near civilization (just 12 minutes to town).

The Hideaway Unit 2 is a full apartment located at 6700 feet with stunning scenic views of mountains and plains. Wonderfully appointed, this 1000 square foot, two bedroom space is the perfect scenic spot to work from. It is secluded but an easy drive to Boulder and modest 37 miles drive to central Denver. Cell phone reception is very good for most carriers and an internet hook-up is available.

Eldora Ski Resort is within 20 miles. Boulder is a mere 12 minute drive; the selection of museums, libraries, recreation, shopping, galleries, restaurants, and other cultural activities is virtually endless. CU, NIST, and NCAR are minutes away. Great RECREATIONAL options are nearby: hiking galore, Rocky Mountain National Park, cross-country skiing. Central City and Black Hawk gambling is about 35 minutes drive away.

Laundry Service: Arrangements can be made to have access to the laundry room for stays of 1 week or more if desired.

Lowell and Bonnie, owners/managers, reside on the lower story of the structure. These 'mountain gnomes' are available to help should there may be any problems.

4WD: Four wheel drive or at least all wheel drive is recommended year round and REQUIRED during snowy periods in winter. The ½ mile driveway has some steep sections as well as some rougher sections that some smaller cars might not do well on. The HideAway is at an altitude of 6700 feet. It is also recommended that if at all possible you arrive during daylight hours for your first drive up to the house. These are mountain roads and can get a bit confusing if you are not familiar with them after dark.

The property is at an altitude of 6,700 feet, not usually an altitude problem but for some rare individual it could be. Drink plenty of water. The mountain areas have some inherent dangers, such as rocks to slip or fall on. You may also be treated to the site of an occasional rabbit, raccoon, fox, deer, elk or even a bear or mountain lion. Renters are responsible for their children and others they bring onto the property. If you are not used to the mountains take it easy on your first hikes. Most of all have a great time.

WOW

The first negotiation of the dirt road leading to this slice of heaven was a bit challenging, but my husband who is in his early 70's had no problems driving a Toyota Corolla. Sunrises, sunsets, flora fauna, hikes, views, all that this spectacular area has to offer is yours on Nana's mountain. After a busy day in Boulder or hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park, coming "home" to this spacious, comfortable and beautiful place is a sweet memory we will always cherish. Thank you, Bonnie.

The location is beautiful and you will have everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. Bonnie is very accommodating and gracious. The drive up the narrow dirt road is a little harrowing but we made it in a small 4 cylinder car. In the winter however, you will definitely need 4 wheel drive. Beautiful location!

Awesome vacation

  • 5 of 5
We rented the Hideaway for a long weekend. We had a great time there. The "apartment" feels like a home. The views are magnificent...from the deck, from the front of the house, and from the 2 bedrooms (the views of the sunrise from the bedrooms is gorgeous!). Sitting out on the deck was the perfect spot for a glass of wine and looking into the clear nighttime skies (some of the best star-gazing ever). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hideaway. I highly recommend staying there if you want a quiet, natural habitat, comfortable and relaxing accommodations, to be away from town but still within 15-20 minutes of Boulder, and at the same time, being in your own "hideaway" in the mountains!

Beautiful, unique, and close to town!

  • 5 of 5
I loved my stay at the HideAway. The photos were quite accurate: the apartment is bright, airy, well-organized, clean and comfortable. The views from every room (and the deck) are stunning!! We cooked breakfasts and dinners, ate together, and felt uncrowded, spreading out between rooms when we didn't want to be in each others' way.

The owner was very helpful and accommodating. The trips to and from town do involve a mountain road, but are just as short as most trips through town: 15 minutes from downtown Boulder. Most of my "must do" in Boulder are downtown: The Kitchen Restaurant, Boulder Creek, the Tea House, Lucille's, the trailhead to Mt. Sanitas, the Pearl Street Mall, Boulder Bookstore. An additional advantage in the summer is that mountain weather is just a tad more comfortable than being in town.

I enjoyed hiking from the Betasso trailhead minutes from the house. I loved seeing deer outside my window. My kids played in the areas near the house. The moon shone brighter than they had ever seen. Highly recommended!

This place is in the most beautiful country I've seen. The views cannot be beat. The apartment had everything thing you need. Only drawback was the steep, narrow climb up the road to get there. We had a minivan (I recommend you do not take one up this hill) we traded out our van for our daughters Subaru,(luckily she lives in Denver) and had no issues getting up after that. Once we recovered from our scare, we enjoyed nature, a couple of deer and drinks out on the deck. Watched an awesome thunderstorm one evening for miles. Close to Boulder and easy drive to Rocky Mtn Natl. Park.

Incredible Views

  • 5 of 5
We spent a month at "Nana's Mountain" and really fell love with the place and location. We plan to go back many times. We were looking for a place up in the mountains with views, wildlife (saw deer out the window, two fox and a medium sized brown bear one day who was skittish and disappeared quickly), hiking nearby, and yet close to a city such as Boulder. This is the place. I made it down to edge of Boulder in 11 minutes (coming from a big city, for us that is like going to the grocery store). We liked having the various activities of a university town such as Boulder and variety in places to eat. On the other hand, we didn't want to have to drive a long ways to get to a variety of mountain hiking trials. The place has all the accommodations one needs and is comfortable, modern and clean (important to us). I had seen comments about the road, but did not find it an issue at all and the owner keeps it graded as need; although I had my preferred 4X4 truck as my mountain vehicle, I would have been very comfortable taking one of the Lexus up the hill).
Can't say enough to endorse the place or the hospitality provided by the owner who keeps a really low profile, but is there if needed.

If you enjoy the outdoors, the foothills above Boulder is a great place to stay. Hiking, mountain biking, snowshoing, rock climbing or just sitting quietly and enjoying the wildlife are just a few of the activities you will enjoy here. Boulder Falls is just up the canyon a few miles, fed by mountain snow melt from North Boulder Creek, it is a spectacular site to see. Boulder's Farmers Market open every Saturday and Wednesday during the summer is a great place to brouse for the freshest in foods and also great crafts. Chautauqua Park with its auditorium and community house offers great entertainment as well as educational programs, not to speak of there fine dining and hiking trails. The quaint town of Nederland is 15 minute drive from the Hideaway. It has great little shops, restaraunts and a unique culture all its own. You will want to be sure to take Peak to Peak Highway to Estes Park and of course while you are there visit the Rocky Mountain National Park. Black Hawk and Central City are also popular attractions with the Opera House and gambling. These are just a few of the attractions in the area.
