We have been staying here for 5yrs and wish we would have found it along time ago...The owners are excellent to work with..the place is my home away from home very peaceful amd pleasant. .we are here from first of March till mid month. ..
The family decided to make a new tradition and have Thanksgiving in Fla. We chose this place based on it's closeness to everything we had planned. The house and surrounding acres are great and you can drive to anything you want to do. It had all the room and comfort one could want. We visited Disney for a day and I pulled the boat down for some fishing on the lake. All the Manatees were a pleasant surprise with a mother and baby coming within 20 feet of the boat and checking us out. Deland was a great place to eat and restock on the groceries. Daytona was a short drive for some great seafood. For large family gatherings it was perfect.
It was everything the ad said it was and more. We will definitely be back.
My family, six adults, one 7 yrs. old grandaughter and one small dog, rented this nice property on 46 acres for four nights during the recent Thanksgiving holidays. The owner was very nice to work with and recommended a pontoon boat rental business which also turned out to be a very good choice. With the dock located on the property right on the lake, we found it most convenient. The view from the wrap around porch of the property and lake gave us wonderful day and night time entertainment as my son-in-law brought his telescope. We have already recommended this rental to interested friends.
We had a wonderful time here. The owners were very nice and easy to work with. They promptly answered any and all questions. The house and property were exactly how they were listed. I would definitely recommend this house for large groups. We had 8 adults and 2 children staying here and we had plenty of room. We all felt the price was very reasonable.
This was the second visit that my family and I had to the ranch--the first time we came was in 2009. We absolutely love the ranch! It is in a lovely part of Florida and the ranch itself is unique--unspoilt, peaceful, fantastic. St. John's River is home to extraordinary wildlife from rare birds to manatees and staying at the ranch you're in the middle of it all. Sitting on the shaded porch sipping a glass of wine while Great Sandhill Cranes perform their dance is not to be missed.
The owners have thought of everything. The house is well-equipped, comfortable and clean. It is spacious enough for 8 and with two giant TVs in dual living rooms, children are well entertained.
There's plenty to see and do in the area--renting a boat to explore the river proved easy and fun, Harry Potter World in Orlando is 45 minutes away, Hontton State Park, horseback riding, lots of good restaurants, etc. but best of all is to stay at the ranch, enjoy the huge swimming pool and plan a return trip. We look forward to our April 2012 visit!
My husband, son and I enjoyed a wonderful, peaceful 4-night stay at this home. We loved waking up every morning to a view of blue sky and trees through the windows, and the sound of birds singing. The beds are comfortable, the kitchen is well-equipped, and the well-maintained property offers great opportunities to explore and enjoy nature in Central Florida. A great family getaway or gathering place for a larger group. There are several nature preserves in the area. The home is a short-drive from downtown Deland. The owner, Roy, was helpful and welcoming. We look forward to another stay!
