Beach Description:
The property is in a low dune area on the shores of Lake Michigan.
The beach is a mixed sand/stone beach only a few steps down from the property's deck.
Six miles of pristine undeveloped shoreline is less than a five minute walk away.
The Lake Michigan water level varies yearly, but on average this is a shallow bay area of the Lake, with water depths of one-to-three feet for the first fifty feet of water.
There are several public Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix beaches with in a ten minute drive.
Lake Michigan temperatures run between 65-70F from July 4th to Labor Day, and Lake Charlevoix runs between 65-75 F. Various water activities are available nearby in Charlevoix and Petoskey.
The sun sets from the deck over the water from St. Patrick's Day through Thanksgiving.
The long summer evening make a fire on the beach as a perfect way to end your day.
Resort Town Area:
The property is within a short drive of several popular resorts towns in Northwestern Lower Michigan. The closest is Charlevoix, a quaint all seasons town wedged between Lake Michigan and Lake Charlevoix. Boyne City, Petsokey, Bay View, Bay Harbor, and Harbor Springs are within 10 miles. All the towns are excellent centers for shopping, restaurants, year long festivals, and favorites for mid-westerners since the early 1900's. At the property their is an extensive catalog of area attractions, restaurant ratings, and a festival schedule for you to explore and enjoy. Traverse City and Mackinaw are also within a hour of the property, and are excellent areas for a day trip.
Golf:
This area of Northern Michigan is home to nearly 40 Championship Courses, and this property could be used as a base to explore most of the highly rated. The nearest is Belvedere Golf Club, a semi-private course with public access built in the 1920's, host of the Michigan Amateur for over 40 times. Also, in the immediate Charlevoix area are the highly acclaimed Dunmaglas course and Charlevoix Country Club. Within a 30 minute drive you will reach all of the nine Boyne USA courses at Boyne Mountain, Boyne Highlands, and Bay Harbor. The Bay Harbor course (links/quarry) and The Heather at Boyne Highlands are ranked in the 'Top 100 courses you can play' in the US. Just another 15 minutes one can reach the Gaylord Golf Region which includes the Treetops Resort, and if you head south, you can reach the Grand Traverse and Shanty Creek Resorts, home of The Bear, Cedar Creek, and The Legend.
