The House has been refurbished and redecorated in January 2015 including new luxury bathrooms with walk in showers and underfloor heating, it is well equipped with grounds comprising extensive terracing, south-facing sitting-out areas, and exclusive use of an all-weather hard tennis court and an outdoor heated swimming pool, as well as a variety of garden games – full-size pool table, all-weather table tennis and croquet.
Perfectly placed for exploring the Cotswolds and its many delights, it is within easy reach of Stratford-upon-Avon. A town brimming with half-timbered buildings, there are many interesting sights associated with Shakespeare to be seen; the Holy Trinity Church, and the Bard’s last resting place, Guild Chapel, Hall’s Croft and New Place all make for interesting visits, as does Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the adjoining Swan Theatre. New Inn House is also ideal for visiting Cheltenham, and the Gustav Holst Museum, Evesham – reputedly Lady Godiva’s site of burial, and Tewkesbury. In addition to the many historic Cotswold villages and towns, the surrounding countryside is excellent terrain for walking; a climb to the summit of the Worcestershire Beacons affords marvellous views of lush green Hereford and the flat expanses of the Severn Valley. Location Information: Kids in the Cotswolds For a day of animal fun head to the Cotswold Wildlife Park. You’ll get a train ride through the grounds, an adventure playground and of course the lions, zebras, hippos, penguins, fruit bats, monkeys – and lots more. For lovely woodland walks and magnificent Birds of Prey shows head down the road to Batsford Arboretum and Falconry Centre. Adam Henson’s Cotswold Farm Park is a another great day out, especially for younger children. You can feed the animals, ride a tractor and learn about rare breeds. Or play hide and seek in the gardens at Hidcote. Jousting, archery, falconry, medieval displays, mighty trebuchet catapult. Sound fun? Then head to Warwick Castle for an action packed day. Buy tickets online to avoid the queues. For car enthusiasts and older children there’s the Heritage Motor Centre and Museum. With a selection of outdoor activities including 4×4 driving, Go Karts and a Miniature Roadway. For the Grown Ups You don’t need to do anything other than relax in the house, sit around the pool and stroll down the road to The Queens Head – or head out to one of the many fabulous gastro-pubs nearby after exploring some of the beautiful local villages. For horse riding there is The Vine Stables near Broadway offering hacks and lessons for individuals or groups.
