THE GREAT ESCAPE

  • 5 of 5
I had forgotten just how beautiful the Perthshire countryside is. And Mill Cottage, located near Dunkeld is just as lush as the surrounding scenery. This barn conversion was tastefully decorated with a fine eye for detail. Beautifully renovated, the rooms were comfortable and cosy. The numerous skylights flooding the rooms with natural light gave a delightful ambience to a great week's stay.

This cottage is conveniently placed for fishing, sightseeing and hill walking but a car is essential. Aberfeldy, nearby was a great little village for all holiday essentials.

And the icing on the cake? The owners were the friendliest couple I have ever met. Great sense of fun and nothing was too much trouble.

A great holiday with fond memories.

I would definitely visit again.

LOVELY HOUSE, LOVELY COUNTRY

  • 5 of 5
A beautiful cottage in outstanding countryside, and Jill and George are the warmest and lovely people you could meet and made us very welcome, we stayed just for a week but it was nowhere near long enough to see and do all that is in the local area, we would highly recomend this to our family and friends.
The view from the bedroom window is just stunning, and all the facilities in the cottage are excellent, the stone fireplace and woodburner are just the finishing touches for a fantastic holiday.

LOVELY COTTAGE EN WONDERFUL HOSTS

  • 4 of 5
On arrival we were warmly received by George who had the fire in the fireplace already burning at the cottage. The beds were already made and everything was very clean, the garden was wel kept.
The cottage was - tastefully - done up not to long ago so it's equipped with all the modern appliances you might need (dishwasher, microwave oven etc.). The sheep outside served as an (early) alarmclock, that may not be to everyones taste, but it didn't bother us too much.

Jill brought us some lovely scones and cake from the tearoom in nearby Amulree which made us feel even more welcome.

The location is a nice base to view all that Perthsire has to offer and the surrounding countryside is of great beauty.

For the flyfishermen and -women, the lovely river Braan is right at your doorstep and it's home to some nice brown trout.

BEAUTIFUL PERTHSHIRE

  • 5 of 5
The cottage was beautiful and within excellent scenery. The hospitality was fantastic and the cottage had everything that you could possibly need, immaculate and very well furnished. Ideally located for exploring the towns and villages nearby with good access to the A9 for towns further afield. There is a vast amount of leaflets and books provided by the owner to assist with excursions and places to visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending the cottage to friends and family. Definately would recommend Howie's Bistro in the town of Dunkeld, amazing service and fantastic food, very reasonable on price. Cottage would suit families, couples and anyone wanting to have a relaxing, quiet holiday. Car recommended.

A TERRIFIC WEEK IN JULY

  • 5 of 5
We (family of 4, two sons aged 14 and 10) had a super week here. Firstly we had a warm welcome from Jill and George who could not have been more helpful or more hospitable throughout our stay. The house was exactly as portrayed on the website, spotlessly clean, comfortable and ideally located - a very quiet base but within easy reach of Dunkeld and Aberfeldy, Perth, Pitlochry and Crieff. Huge numbers of possible activities and we only tackled a fraction of them. George helped us catch our son's first trout - cause for much celebration - in the river at the edge of the property. We went sailing on Loch Tay - highly recommended - to the theatre in Pitlochry, also highly recommended, cycling and spent a fun day in St Andrew's as well. Beautiful countryside all around and very decent weather. We would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives. We felt wonderfully relaxed with batteries fully recharged at the end of the week.
