Haute-Nendaz Chalet Rental Photos and Description
Large 310m2 ski-in chalet; panoramic views; 2 living rooms; interior designed
A stunning chalet with breathtaking panoramic views which are unobstructed for 270 degrees around the chalet across the Rhone valley. This is a 6 bed 6 bath chalet built to a very high specification out of reclaimed old wood and stone to combine a rustic feel with a very high modern specification . The double height living room provides a real ‘wow ‘ factor and the layout caters for families and large groups with a double living room and huge kitchen / dining room and a further second separate living room.
We built this chalet to provide all the features that we used to look for when renting chalets ourselves but struggled to find. There is a huge fireplace; custom built kitchen; huge deck and hot tub; feather down filled sofas and quality furnishings from interior designers Design Forum; underfloor heating; mood lighting; power showers, heated towel rails; pocket sprung beds; large reserves of hot water; second sitting room for children to allow adult time;large boot and coat room; plasma TV;sky satellite TV; DVD wifi etc and options to have catered food delivered so as to enjoy the ambiance of the chalet without having to cook every night.
The chalet sits in a large plot of land and can be skiied to by traversing 700m across a meadow from the piste (proved no problem for our 7 year old after 2 weeks skiing). Walking out is 600m along a road to the piste.
One enters the chalet into the lobby with 2 very large cupboards hand built out of old wood with shelving and a chest for helmets boots gloves etc and turns left to walk into the dining and kitchen area which overlook the living area and out across the valley to the mountains opposite. Past the oak dining table for 14, the kitchen is hand-built out of old wood and incorporates Miele double oven & plate warmer, microwave, fridge 2 freezers, dishwasher etc and is fully equipped. Walking down half a level within the open plan layout you arrive in the living room which is dominated by a huge fireplace built from stone helicoptered down from the mountain and which is characterised by 3 large sliding doors which open onto the deck with hot tub for 8 and afford uninterrupted views on 3 sides of the chalet. The sitting area features a TV recessed into the stone wall and there are deep sofas to sink into. Off to one side there is a library / reading area equipped with books, games, DVDs etc. Walking down another half level are two double bedrooms with en suite shower rooms and built in old wood wardrobes, one with fabric finished walls and along the corridor is a twin bedroom with an en suite bathroom. All bedrooms are special - there are no second rate rooms for the last guest to arrive. Another half level lower are 2 larger master bedrooms with baths and showers and twin sinks in hand built old wood cabinets and beyond is the utility room with washing machine and dryer. Going back upstairs to the entry lobby by the front door and walking to the right from the front door one passes a toilet and enters the second sitting family room with TV and DVD and a sofa which can be converted to an additional double bed fro guests 14 and 15. There is a bathroom to one side and stairs up to a galleried floor overlooking the sitting room. This contains a double and a single traditional Swiss style wooden bed built into the wall which are loved by children and appeal to adults alike.
The intention is to create a chalet that gives top hotel standards of luxury and space for all guests alike without compromise but within the privacy of a beautiful chalet environment allowing everyone to come and go as they choose.

I am Australian and my husband is from the UK. Travel and holidays are a big part of our lives and we also own a villa in Greece. We love skiing and also the mountains in the summer and try to get out to the chalet as often as we can as it is our home.
We own the chalet with another family. Between us we have 5 children aged 3 to14 and wanted to be able to accommodate ourselves plus another family on occasion in comfort after numerous ski holidays with poor beds, no hot water, let alone atrocious quality accommodation, so since we couldn't find one, we built one right ourselves !
We chose Nendaz because it is high up in Four Valleys which is one of the best ski areas in the world and offers reliable snow through into April as Easter is our favourite time to go with our young children. There is good skiing for all levels and we love to come home to relax with our friends and enjoy the hot tub and log fire and park the children in the other sitting room !
The chalet really does feel special and the views are amazing - I prefer it in the summer as I always feel that I don't get the full benefit in the winter as I am out skiing all day. We are lucky with our chalet service company that provides a dinner service which is brought to the door and I just have to heat up which is no problem and means that I can have a real holiday.
