Wellfleet Vacation Rental house

Our 2 week's at Dick and Leslie's was the PERFECT vacation. The house is exquisite with every amenity you can think of plus a lot of extras(i.e. vases of hand cut flowers throughout the house by Leslie). The house is open on the main floor and fits 2 families of 4 extremely well. It is so peaceful ...you feel like you are in an adult sized treehouse. I loved having my morning coffee out on the huge screened in porch (would have been great on a rainy day but we didn't have any). The upstairs has 2 good sized bedrooms, an awesome bathroom with a shower to die for and a small private deck with a 4 person hot tub for late night relaxation under the stars. The basement has a nice bedroom which can sleep 3, a full bath, and a tv area. The tv with dvd and tape player is set up down there with a futon and 2 chairs. It was actually nice not to have the tv on the main floor so we could connect as a family while listening to our Ipods on stereo, playing games and reading. Having wireless internet service let my husband check his emails every morning and the kids could stay in touch with friends. The house is situated just outside town and you can easily bike to town but watch out - there are many hills. Easy access to the house through town or an alternative route to avoid town traffic. Must drive to the bay and beaches but can get a weekly parking sticker at the Marina. Newcombe Hollow Beach was our favorite since it had the easiest access (not such a huge dune to maneuver) and they allowed flotation devices at the beach besides boogie boards for hours of fun for the kids. Wellfleet offers many wonderful restaurants (the Pearl was our favorite), shops and galleries. We did a sunset sail excursion one evening from the marina that was so peaceful and a memory that will last a lifetime. The Wellfleet drive-in theater is a must and you can catch a play at the Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater and see the man who built this dream house in action. Leslie and Dick are so friendly and warm and are a stone's throw away (or cell phone call) right down the hill if you have any questions, problems or need recommendations of things to do and places to go. We can't wait to go back next summer to relax in their dream house again and to do all the things we didn't have a chance to do this summer!!!
