Alcione is a villa located in the residential complex of Ansedonia. Ansedonia formerly an ancient Roman settlement, is a cape covered with Mediterranean bush vegetation separating two long stretches of sand. To the north the Feniglia beach to the south Tagliata beach. Guests to Alcione will therefore be able to take advantage of both beaches which are respectively 3 and 5 minutes’ drive away. The Fengilia beach features a fully equipped beach club, including a restaurant. In the same location you can rent bicycles and hike or cycle in the Fengilia Mediterranean pine tree forest which stretches for 5 kms to the village or Porto Ercole in Argentario. Close to Alcione (5 minutes’ walk) there is a tennis club with clay tennis courts. Golf players can refer to the Argentario Golf Club in Porto Ercole which is just 10 minutes’ drive away. This is also a resort with luxury rooms and 5 star restaurant. In Ansedonia itself there is a small village with a grocery shop, a cafè, a news stand and a Restaurant with a terrace overlooking the sea. This is just 1 km away from the villa. For guests fond of sailing, excursions at sea, boat and yacht rental as well as Scuba diving the place to refer to is the Cala Galera Marina just outside Porto Ercole. Sightseeing in the area is very rich, the villages of Porto Ercole, Porto Santo Stefano, the Uccellina Natural parks, the inlan medieval villages of Capalbio, Mancian and Pitigliano. Last but not least there are plenty of wineries and cellars to visit, all within 49 minutes’ drive.
