Thanks for sharing your summer cottage with us - we really enjoyed the relaxing time we spent here (and so did the dogs!) :) We love to come back again for a week or two. Please let us know what is available in 2013.
my wife and i stayed at loon pines for 2 weeks and just loved it. when we arrived the owner was at his cabin across the street and came over to welcome us in person and informed us of the laws and regulations of the town. one thing we wanted to do was some fishing and found out thet you needed a permit which the owner told us where to get one. the best thing is that if you are looking for a quiet get away with not alot of people around this is the place for you. nice cabin on a secluded lake very friendly people around and noone to bother you. there is plenty to do with the downtown area of plymoth and activities at the cabin, boating, fishing, bbq, swimming, hiking, and much more.plenty for the kids.
Spent several weeks there over multiple years. Great hospitality and accomodations! I would recomend to all!
this cottage is so quiet and out of the way that you could be in montana. when you are sitting on the front porch you forget that you are in new hampshire. In the deal you get a screened in house, hammock, gas grill, cloths line, everyhting in the kitchen you could possible need, paddleboat, canoes, raft and great swimming. need I say more. mike and diane were very nice. I asked for a early check in to go to a wedding and they made sure that I was in by 12. I really enjoyed my stay. when you go make sure you kyake the campton bog and walk the quincy bog enjoy!!!!!!!!!!
My wife and I and 3 dogs had a wonderful time at this cottage. It is a private area with wonderful views and right near the lake. The dogs swam at the beach for hours on end.. The water is crystal clear. Plenty of wonderful places to eat within a 10 minute drive. We can't wait to go back. The owners are very helpful.
The Whalens have made this little cottage into a wonderful, cozy getaway with many comforts of home. The kitchen, bath, etc are modern and VERY well-stocked but the place still has lots of rustic charm. The lake is peaceful and lovely, but you are also very close to shops, restaurants, and any type of outdoor activity you enjoy... though in the end we chose to stick close to the cabin and enjoy the swimming, canoeing, and grilling right at our fingertips! At under 2 hours driving time from Boston, this getaway can't be beat.
The Whalen's lakeside cabin was the perfect family get away. As a family ranging in age from 2 to 65, we all enjoyed canoeing, catching frogs, fishing, toasting marshmellows and grilling. The lake had only a few motor boats and was very quiet. On the rainy days we visited the Polar Caves, the Flume and the largest arcade, Fun Spot. Loon Lake would make a perfect get away from it all, especially for nature enthusiasts.
Loon Pines features swimming fun in a spring fed lake; excellant fishing; boating; tax-free outlet shopping and many tourist attractions too numerous to list for family members of all ages; hiking along many mountain trails; antiques and crafts. It is close to town yet on private dead end road, with easy access to grocery shopping, laundromats, restaurants and hospital.
