3 Double Bedrooms All En-suite - Sleeps 6 (+ Poss 2 Children On 2nd Floor)

Our luxury villa has access via a few steps onto a small beach. The amount of beach sand over the rocks beneath varies a lot as it's affected by the tides. There are two beautiful larger beaches 300 yards away in either direction. It has 3 fully fitted, air-conditioned, double bedrooms on the first floor, with personal safes and ceiling fans, and each with its own en-suite bathroom & shower including hair-dryer, gel dispensers, towels and beach towels. The 2nd floor lounge / bar with open sun deck & it's own en-suite shower room is sometimes used as a 4th double bedroom for 2 children using the thick cushioned sun loungers as temporary beds, The kitchen/utility area is fully equipped with laundry, double oven, ceramic hob, microwave, USA style fridge freezer & a 2nd fridge for frequent use items. The lounge/dining area is elegantly furnished with patio doors leading onto a covered patio overlooking the sea & an outer patio with a cooling spa tub and table & chairs.

About John & Marjorie Davis

John & Marjorie are semi-retired parents & grandparents residing in England.

John is a Chartered Engineer with a career in major manufacturing companies followed by management consulting – specialising in directing major business performance improvement projects across the world for international Blue-Chip companies.

Marjorie is a professional ice dance skater. At only 10 she was the youngest ever to represent Great Britain at ice dancing, and at 16 became Professional British & World Ice Dance Champion! Later, in business she was MD of an Executive Recruitment Consultancy.

They first visited Barbados for 1 week in 1994, staying at Sam Lords Castle resort in St Philip on the SE Coast. They loved Barbados and the local Bajans so much they returned the following year & were married on Sam Lord’s beach. They have visited more than 60 times since then and decided to invest in Idyllic Villa in 2001. They built a second villa ‘Beach Haven’ on the Caribbean West Coast in 2006 which is also available for rent.

They are both very particular and very practical hands on people, and have built / refurbished the villas to a very high standard. They are both always kept by the housekeepers in an excellent, clean & well maintained condition. They fully manage the property maintenance and lettings themselves – visiting 3 or 4 times a year to keep everything ship shape – as well as having regular vacations there!

They have many strong friendship links with local residents, so they can introduce guests into the ‘behind the scenes’ Bajan local life if they wish to be more adventurous & involved.

Beach Haven is a freehold detached villa on the West Coast main road, directly fronting the beach of the Caribbean Sea at Prospect, near Fitts Village in the famous parish of St James. It was designed, built and fitted out by John & Marjorie & completed in 2006. It’s close to Bridgetown, the capital of Barbados, but also its only a short drive further along the coast to all of the world famous resorts of the ‘Platinum Coast’ frequented by celebrities from all over the world – e.g. Sandy Lane Resort & golf course is only a 10 minute drive away.

The villa is creatively designed on 3 levels to make maximum use of its 2600sq.ft floor area. On the first floor there are 3 double bedrooms all with full en-suite bathrooms. On the second floor there is a lounge/bar with patio doors opening onto a roof top sun patio overlooking the blue Caribbean – beautiful for relaxing day or night. It is fully furnished and equipped for a ‘home-from-home’ comfortable, self catering vacation with a housekeeping service included.

The villa is an ideal base away from the tourist resorts but close enough for visiting the beach bars & restaurants the area has to offer, and for exploring the whole island of Barbados.

Prospect Beach villa is located directly on the beach to the Caribbean sea - on Highway 1, the main West Coast road. It's about a quarter mile south of Fitts Village with its large beach & other facilities, and approx 150 yards from the famous Waves Hotel . About 400 yds south is Batts Rock, which is a quiet secluded bay with a beautiful beach where the catamarans sometimes pull in to show their passengers the beauty of the area. Our detached luxury villa was built in an elegant style with distinctive double glazed, high security windows which have tinted toughened glass to keep the villa cool & provide maximum security. A frequent bus service runs past - operating between Bridgetown & all of the West Coast villages through Prospect, Fitts Village, Paynes Bay, Sandy Lane, Holetown, Mullins and Speightstown up to Six Mens. The whole coast is known as the Platinun Coast - famous for its celebrity visitors, top class hotels, amenities, shopping restaurants and bars. However the villa is away from the crowds - a place to relax.

  • BOOKINGS:
    All rent payments must be made via bank transfer or by debit / credit card.
    The rates currently being offered are to attract new guests and bookings. They represent discounts of between 50% to 65% on our standard rates.
    We require a 25% deposit to secure all bookings. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to arrival.
    There is also an additional US$50 non-refundable maintenance admin charge per booking taken at the same time as the balance payment. This will be taken by debit /credit card by our UK based Maintenance Agent. Provisional bookings will lapse after 7 days if the deposit has not been received.
    The villa is privately owned & the owners may make improvements or repairs at any time as they deem necessary.
    Maintenance is carried out to the custom & practise of Barbados, which may be quite different to the response you are used to at home.
  • CANCELLATION TERMS:
    Please only book the villa when you are absolutely sure of visiting. No payments are refundable in the event of cancellation.
    Before the balance payment has become due, we are prepared to alter your booking to other dates that are available at their appropriate rates, and will credit your new booking with 50% of your original deposit paid.
    Once the balance has become due we cannot change the booking dates
    By payment of a deposit a binding contract is entered into. Disputes will be governed by English Law and subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Courts of England & Wales.
    NOTE: You SHOULD take out adequate travel insurance effective from the date you book the villa - to cover your group comprehensively for all unforeseen events including any reason for you cancelling your visit.
    No liability can be accepted for your losses if you choose not to take out insurance or if your insurance does not cover your losses
  • PLEASE NOTE:
    To avoid disruption & disappointment to other guests we ask all visitors to treat the property & it's contents as though they were their own. The accommodation must be left as found - in an undamaged, tidy & orderly fashion.
    Please ask the housekeeper to show you how to use equipment properly. Please do not 'force ' things to breaking point. Many key items are imported to Barbados & cannot be replaced easily or quickly.
    Any breakages or damage must be notified to the housekeeper and will be paid for via credit / debit card, taken by the Maintenance Agent in th UK..
    We cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for all events that are outside of our own direct control – e.g. the weather, airlines, criminal behaviour, theft, behaviour of neighbours or others, damage caused by earlier guests, fire, civil strife, accidents, personal injury, medical conditions, terrorism etc.

  • All bedrooms are fully equipped with built in wardrobes, drawers and counter top. Also each bedroom has its own small security safe. The en-suite to each bedroom has a bath tub with integral shower and screen, basin and wc with hairdryer, vanity unit and soap / shampoo dispensers. All linen and towels are provided. There is an option to use the 2nd floor lounge area as a temporary bedroom for say 2 children sleeping on two of the thick cushioned sunbeds. The room has its own en-suite shower room.

Notes: The villa has air conditioning units installed in all 3 bedrooms to ensure comfortable sleeping conditions. There are no air-conditioning units in any other rooms, but there are fans and the windows can be opened for air circulation. To cool off and take refreshing dips in the daytime sun, the villa has its own private Spa bath overlooking the sea on the downstairs patio - it is not heated other than by the sun - it's for relaxing & cooling off! I do not often impress myself,however, on this occasion I did with a great choice of villa. My 2 travelling companions were also suitably impressed.
Everything you needed and a little bit more was there. From my initial contact with the villa owner to the goodbyes from the housekeeper, all was simple, to the point and an excellent service.
I will be back again if the villa is available at the time I need it.

Thanks Beach haven for a lovely golfing holiday.

WONDERFUL 5-STAR VACATION

We visited as 3 couples and enjoyed a fabulous week at your Villa. The lovely location was perfect - on the main road for security but overlooking the beach & the Caribbean - away from the busy tourist spots just along the coast. We loved strolling along your beautiful sandy beaches and amazing views. Tracy looked after us perfectly & cooked us all a couple of fantastic meals. Barbados is beautiful with its friendly people who love to talk to you anytime & anywhere. You can't not talk to strangers! - Not like back home!
We loved driving along the West Coast visiting the local haunts and driving all over the island in complete safety. Harrisons Caves is simply superb, also Bathsheba, Orchid World, the Wild Animal park, and best of all a day cruise on the catamaran. Friday night at Oysten's Fish Fry is not to be missed - a whole new world! We are hooked & will return soon. Thankyou John & Marjorie for renting us your own villa at such a good rate.

SUPERB VILLA ON THE BEACH

I stayed at Beach Haven in November 2012. The villa is very well designed and fitted out - it was perfect for our needs. There was wireless internet so we could keep in touch with family and maybe a pesky work e-mail here and there. We really liked the top floor lounge / bar with the sundeck, and regularly used it for laying out in the sun during the day and having a few drinks in the lounge area on evenings. We also really enjoyed the jacuzzi, it was very refreshing to sit in during the afternoon sun. Tracy the housekeeper was very helpful in checking us in and telling us about places to go and things to do. We will definitely be back, hopefully soon!!
