Beautiful spacious apartment, great spot

We always stay in apartments or chalets when going skiing, and this is one of the best. It has obviously just recently been renovated and to a very high standard. It's really comfortable and spacious inside. It has that perfect mix of being central to everything, but lovely and quiet at night. It was a great place to come back to after a long days skiing to relax. I would recommend the bakery just down the road for a daily fresh breakfast.
Other good bits are parking was very convenient, getting to the main gondola was a doddle, building had it's own ski room with boot heaters (a must nowadays), kitchen had a great coffee machine and was really well kitted out. Also wifi as standard (another must). We arrived by train from the airport as the manager told us the station was close by, and that was really convenient and saved us having to rent a car.
Bad Gastein is a really nice town and the thermal spas are definitely worth a visit, especially the outdoor heated pool in freezing weather, a real novelty. Food and restaurants are good in town and on the mountain.
Finally, skiing in Bad Gastein is really good. Great mix of runs, and there is a huge run all the way to Bad Hofgastein which is great (be prepared though, it's long). Lot's of variety and options, and we had great snow.
