Owner's Response: We pride ourselves in having a beautiful open floor plan 4 level post and beam home.
The walls actually do not talk. None of the bedrooms are adjacent to each other other. The 2 bedrooms on level 3 are separated by a very large Jack and Jill master bath room which allows for the sink/grooming area to be separated from the tub/shower/toilet area. There is another large master bath on level 2 with a sunken whirlpool tub and separate shower. If 3 couples required 3 bathrooms you could have picked another property as our listing is quite clear. However, our family manages fine even when we are all there together with much larger groups than yours.
The nature of post and beam construction is such that the floors and ceilings between levels are "open" and devoid of the air space/sheet rock ceilings that exist in stick built homes. The downside to this is less noise deadening between floors. However, normal conversation and activity noises cannot be heard between floors. The upside is the natural beauty of the living space which is as spectacular as the view to the mountains from our windows. In addition, the 4 levels and 2 lofts make it very easy for anyone to 'escape' for any needed private sanctuary/refuge.
We utilize a reliable and standard linen service and we have standard size mattresses, so we don't understand your linen sizing concerns. In 15 years, we have never heard this complaint.
We are very clear in our welcoming packet that long distance calling requires a calling card which is true for most rental properties. Cell phone service can be spotty in the mountains as you know. There are times that our AT&T service actually does work well.
Finally, we are disappointed that the generous selection of kitchen utensils and state of the art resources was a problem for you. We stock the kitchen as we would want for ourselves and added guests. Again, this is another first in 15 years.
We anticipate adding high speed internet service next season. For now, dial up internet service is available through your own ISP.
While we are happy that you chose to stay with us, it sounds like you did not match your needs to the rental property description as well as you could. In addition, we are always happy to discuss our property and its amenities in detail with any prospective guests to be sure they have nothing but good times at Tranquility Base II.
