THE LAKEWOOD LODGE IS A WATERFONT LOG HOME ON BEAUTIFUL BASS LAKE

Interlochen Lodge Rental Photos and Description

Four bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and den, sleeps 10

Lakewood Lodge is a year-round luxury log home nestled on beautiful Bass Lake, located in the spectacular woods & waters of Michigan's Grand Traverse region. The large 1.5 acre wooded lot with 185' of private frontage is on sandy bottomed Bass Lake, an all-sports lake, just west of Green Lake and Duck Lake. This home has two levels of living. A den and large loft with cathedral ceilings give warmth and an 'up north' ambiance to this full log home. The great room features a natural stone fireplace and is open to the dining and bar area. Two dining areas w/canopy looking out to large lawn for entertaining and summer fun. Much of the lakes shoreline is dedicated to a state park, which makes it a sanctuary for wildlife. A motored fishing boat, paddle-boat, canoe, docks and deck are provided for your use.

Great for family vacations, reunions or could be your private, romantic hide-away...summer, fall, winter or spring! Fall colors are gorgeous and the wine tours any season are spectacular. Only 20 minutes to downtown Traverse City, shopping and dining are superb in Traverse City and in quaint towns along the Leelanau Peninsula. Interlochen Village and the Center for the Arts/Music Camp are 5 miles from the lodge, or Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is 35 minutes from lodge. Canoe the Platte or Betsie River only half mile from lodge. Bass Lake is 100 acres of spring fed, weed free, all-sport lake. Great for canoe, kayak, paddle-boat and sailing. Excellent fishing for bass, pike, perch and bluegill and the wildlife includes loons, herons,white-tailed deer, raccoons, beavers. Small market and tavern in Village of Karlin is only 2 miles away, DNR licenses available there. Northern Lights watching, sitting around firepit and roasting marshmallows..you'll never run out of things to do.

Local festivals and activities include: Traverse City National Cherry Festival , Leland Wine & Food Festival, Traverse City Film Festival and a variety of other local festivals. Try touring local wineries such as, Black Star Farms, Chateau Grand Traverse and Leelanau Wine Cellars all offering wine tasting of the local harvest. All within 10 minutes of lodge, there are canoe rentals, , and for indoor fun, there is bowling, mini golf, check out Buds across from minature golf, and 10 minutes to Frog Pond Wedding and Reception.

Dining: From the rustic Karlin Inn or Maddy's in Interlochen, to four-star restaurants in Traverse City and on the Leelanau Peninsula, a wide variety of dining experiences are available within minutes from the Lodge.

We spent a week there and and although it rained almost everyday we had great time. The house was clean and comfortable and the lake was great. It was a ideal place to explore the all the treasures of Michigan's N/W coast, only minutes from Traverse City and the peninsula's and a great location to launch day trips to Charlevoix, Petoskey or Mackinaw.

We spent a week at Lakewood Lodge in June - two families with 7 kids age 8 and under. It was a fantastic place for our group! Plenty of space inside and tons of space outside. With a playset, lots of sand toys, a paddle boat and canoe, our kids were happy and entertained the entire week. The lake is relatively small, but very nice. The kids caught lots of fish, which was high on the checklist for our vacation. I was concerned we might feel crowded inside with our group, but it really was a perfect fit. The only real downside was the lack of access to a washer and dryer onsite (bummer with 7 kids!) - but we knew ahead of time and just packed more than we otherwise would have. Thank you Lynne and family for sharing your lake home with us. We highly recommend.

We had a blast at the beach! Kids were on the swingset everyday!! Took a trip to the Old Mission Lighthouse Park, it was awesome. Walked trails, walked the beach, great scenery! We got the paddleboat out, took in alittle water, nothing major, the kids and adults loved it!
Ate at Rico's-highly recommend it.

We really enjoyed our time here. The outdoor area is great. It has everything we wanted, boat and paddleboats. The lake is really lovely and quite large. Lots of places to sit outside. Bonfire setup was great. The house definitely has a log cabin feel which we loved. The rooms are very nice. We felt very much at home here and will defintely stay here agin.
