The scenic tour to do by car: First stop: Bernard -one of the most scenic fishing villages, with it's many Lobster boats and Lobster traps along the wharf. Check out Thurston's Lobster Pound for a bite to eat -The view is spectacular. After lunch: Head to Bass Harbor which is the opposite side of Bernard and also very picturesque, Here you can catch the Swans Island Ferry. Seafood Ketch is a great place for breakfast or dinner. Also 'Mainely Delight' is one of my favorite places, known for it's 'Dough Boys' and beautiful Sunsets. From there head up the hill to the Bass Harbor Lighthouse, one of the most photographed lighthouses in all of New England. As you leave the lighthouse, travel around to Seawall Beach, a great place for a picnic, walk along the beautiful coastline, feed the seagulls, or just sit and enjoy life! From there you will enter into Southwest Harbor, where you will find gift shops, coffee shops, book store & the ice cream shop next to the park.
