Once guests have parked here an arched stone tunnel leads guests safely under the lake road out into the principal Villa grounds, which enjoys a sunny lake view position in a mature and serene landscaped setting.
The spacious two bedroom property (ID 437) is situated on the second floor of the period Villa and the accommodation is distinctive, elegant, modern and inviting with a bright and well proportioned lake view sitting room which features three comfortable sofas, a TV, dining area and a wonderful view of the Bellagio peninsular. The owner’s own tasteful and eccentric flair can be enjoyed in the property and can be seen in the original art pieces, antique furniture and modernist touches; the style being Italian distinctly works and provides both a restful and vibrant atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

Guests are able to enjoy the splendid resident landscaped gardens of the villa which feature specimen trees and spectacular flower displays and are ideal for walking and relaxing in.
Cadenabbia is a popular and naturally beautiful resort destination along the desirable central western shore of Lake Como between the resort towns of Tremezzo and Menaggio. The resort is popular especially by the British during the Spring and Autumn time and is part of the commune of Griante; of which the main historical centre is situated behind the hotel lined facade of Cadenabbia up on the breathtaking hillside.
The Cadenabbia lakefront features elegant hotels, beautiful historical villas and local bars and restaurants to cater for locals and visitors. Cadenabbia is also the site of the first Anglican Church in Italy, built here in 1891 as well as home to the famous stronghold of the infamous Lake Como pirate, ‘Antonio the Crazy’ who occupied Griante Castle during the early 1500’s.
Visitors can enjoy the day here walking along the scenic promenade, visiting the famous Villa Carlotta with its beautiful botanical gardens and fascinating past, enjoy a swim at Cadenabbia’s Lido, relax with an excellent cappuccino and cake in one of the many cafés, enjoy a picnic in the lakeside park in Tremezzo, share a romantic dinner with a loved one at one of the many fine restaurants or take the Cadenabbia car and passenger ferry to Varenna, Bellagio and Menaggio.
For those feeling a little more energetic a walk along the Alpine trail up to the San Martino Church is highly recommended. The church is perched high above on the Griante mountainside and boasts spectacular views over Lake Como once you’ve made it to the top!
The historical village of Lenno is also situated very close by and is said to be the oldest on Lake Como. The village features a very pretty lakefront with promenade, bars, and restaurants and a passenger ferry service and Lido. The famous Villa Balbianello is situated on the other side of the bay of Lenno and can be reached by water taxi or by foot through the woodland grounds.
Lombardy - Lake Como Area:-
The Italian Lakes are a little slice of paradise. Elegant ribbons of blue water stretch out ahead, folded into the sun-baked foothills, with a spectacular back drop of the snow-capped Alps.
Lake Como offers hidden treasures just waiting for the visitor to discover them: charming corners forgotten by time, lakeside villages where nothing seems to have changed for centuries.
It is steeped in history with an immense collection of churches, architectural masterpieces and works of art covering the centuries. The lake is situated in a basin surrounded by wooded mountains, and offers an extremely varied landscape, with its' shores featuring a succession of pastures, and woods as well as harsh and impressive rock formations.
All this alongside elegant, lakeside villas with sub-tropical gardens, which provide a haven of peace and tranquillity and chic resorts such as Varenna, Bellagio, Menaggio and Como itself.
Warming, in spring and graced with natural beauty, the lakes are still a place to draw breath and wonder. Lake Como, oriented north-south, ringed by characterful old villages often wedged onto narrow beaches between rugged cliffs and water. Those classic lake images of flower strewn balconies, Baroque gardens and splendid waterside villas can be found here in abundance. Dotted around and between the lakes are some of Italy's finest art cities, such as Milan, Verona & Bergamo.
The most romantic and picturesque villages on the lake are Santa Maria Rezzonico, Varenna (15 min by ferry) & Bellagio (8 min by ferry), Lenno (visit Villa Balbianello, location for 007's Casino Royale as well as Villa Gaeta, right here in Menaggio) & Laglio (where George Clooney owns Villa Oleandra).

I recently stayed in Villa Margherita Grande with my husband and daughter. We absolutely loved the villa, it's spaciousness and the beautiful views from every window!
We enjoyed our stay at the villa immensely. It was lovely and sunny, the gardens are beautiful. It is a very special place and we never ceased to be fascinated by the views.
