Lovely, 2 bedroom cottage on Rangeley Lake. Open concept - bright, sunny, well decorated, in yellow and cobalt blue colors-- beautiful view of Rangeley Lake and Bald Mountain. The front (lakefront) is only 50 ft from the water, and is wall to wall windows. The stationary dock has been rebuilt and is great for sunbathing, grilling or enjoying the sunset. Grass yard just landscaped. Swimming right in front, in clear view from dining table. Beautiful perennial garden and annual flowers all around. There is a substantial mooring for those will large boats and two kayaks for your use. This is a one-of-a-kind Maine log cottage built before the 100 ft set back regulations, but has been maintained and updated so that it has kept its' charm but has all the amenities of a new cottage. Each bedroom is small but has newer high quality mattresses and very nice high thread count linens and comforters. There are two flat screen T.V.'s (in case it rains)one in the master bedroom and one in the common area. This cottage is exceptionally clean, bright, and cheery.

Enjoy swimming, boating, kayaking in Rangeley Lake, just a few steps from the house. Marina offering rentals within walking distance. World famous salmon and trout fishing in Rangeley and all the surrounding lakes and rivers. Great dining nearby, for a family dinner or a romantic meal. Movie theater close by (but it never rains on vacation!). Plenty of wildlife, including deer and moose viewing.

Notes:
two new queen beds-very comfortable --not too hard and not too soft. Nice high thread count sheets with down comfortors and and duvets covers. All towels are white, plush and new. Owner cleans cottage herself and is fastidious.. Lots of sunlight and bright and cheery. Bose wave radio system and two small tv's --one in master bedroom and one in living room with dvd player and satellite tv. Views are amazing, private and landscaping outside is lovely. Truely a wonderful cottage for small families and romatic getaways. Fire pit on front lawn by lake for toasting marshmallows ect. Also kitchen is stocked with spices, sugar and flour, olive oil.

Charming and Cozy

When we walked in we were hooked! We had a girls weekend and it was perfect! It was very welcoming and had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable and the deck on the water was perfect. We had great weather and spent all day sitting on the deck feeding the ducks. It was close enough to town to be convenient and far enough away to feel secluded. The owner provided linens and a fully stocked kitchen. The livingroom area was very comfortable as well. The sunroom was the landing spot for one of the girls, she sat in a very comfy chair with the sun flooding into the room reading for hours! We did not want to leave Monday afternoon!! We are already planning for another weekend getaway!

Lovely Spot on Rangeley Lake

Clean, comfortable, gorgeous view. Very responsive and friendly host. Our one week on the lake was about three weeks too little for all the hiking and paddling we will attempt in the future. Breathtaking views of the lakes from many vantage points in Rangeley and the area.
Dog friendly accommodations and neighborhood made our stay all the more pleasant. And the dinner specials at the Gingerbread House..... tasty.
Will hope to return!

Wonderful cabin and outstanding location

We have been staying in this cabin in Oquossoc for two weeks each summer for over 5 years now and can't say enough wonderful things about the cabin and the owner. The cabin is always well kept and the open floor plan makes living easy. We particularly enjoy sitting at the dining table watching the lake and wildlife. The cabin is in walking distance to Oquossoc center and an easy drive to Rangeley, but located on a quiet road with little noise. It sits up on the hill with a beautiful lawn reaching down to the lake shore. The dock is wonderful to sit on for reading, lake watching, and relaxing. The kayak is an added bonus, although we also bring our own since the paddle around Rangeley lake is something we all enjoy. The owner has always been great to deal with and has addressed any minor issues very quickly.

Deception

Looks great but, look can be deceiving! Backyard awesome w/ beautiful flowers, a hammock, two kayaks, trees, stars, etcetera. The inside was great from a distance. Up close, sheets and towels were old and appeared not clean. The oven did not work as the propane tank was hauled away just prior to our arrival. The owner told us to store our garbage in the freezer due to bear issues. We did not. There were no bear issues and even if there was, I wouldn't store trash in the fridge. The cabinets were a disaster full of reused foil pans. We were promised a refund but still have not received it. We did have a great time. We slept on top of the beds with our own blankets and pillows, ate microwave food, and spent most of our time outside. The lake was great and boating around was awesome. We saw many loons and ducks. Hiking in the area is great, too.

Comfortably charming

We spent an amazingly relaxing week here this summer and enjoyed a beautiful cottage with private lake access. The neighbors were friendly and welcoming adding to the enjoyment of the week.
