Park Island Explorer bus service nearby (drives by the entrance to this home). Hiking and biking are easily accessible. Ike's landing (Acadia National Park boat launch area on Echo Lake) and the National Park Beach on Echo Lake are a short drive away (about 5 minutes).Bar Harbor is about a 10 minute drive from the cottage. FYI: For your convenience, there are grocery stores, libraries and museums in the nearby villages. The village libraries and museum also offer FREE internet/ email access. GrampEbob built this home for our family's first home on MDI (when our sons were growing up and attending the incredible school system on MDI.) We later purchased a cottage on Long Pond and moved to the pond year round after our sons went off to college.

Wish I had a longer vacation

I wanted to have a break from work, and take my family for a good time out. While browsing through the houses, I noticed the Pine Chalet, and it attracted me from the moment I saw it. I contacted Pat, and she really helped me out with the entire process and it was really smooth dealing with her. Paperwork was quick , and the house booked.

I arrived at the location, to find firstly the house had a wooden name plate with my last name engraved on it. Inside, was a clean and welcoming house - and a welcome basket with homemade jam and awsome bread.

Then, we started to tour the house. And, I wanted to spend my vacation in the house itself. It has been decorated with outmost care. Every little detail taken care of, to make my trip a memorable one. The house had entertainment options like family games and kids movies, extra linen and blankets, and amazing glassware/silverware.

Maine - there is no time enough to enjoy it. In a flash, my vacation came to an end. I felt sad leaving the Pine Chalet, but at the same time had a wonderful time here with my family.

I will definitely be visiting here again. Thanks Pat for everything.

The location was perfect. Plenty of room for 8 people. The inside stairs were very steep and only had a railing on 1 side. My son and his wife are in their forties and they found the stairs difficult and I in my seventies found them extremely hard to manuver. The outside stairs were easier to navigate. The house is very clean and had anything you could ever have wanted. The downstairs sitting area had no curtains and was a bit scary in the evening. I spent my evenings upstairs.
