We highly recommend this cabin to all those interested. There are two screened porches, great for drinking coffee (or the beverage of your choice) and listening to the sounds of the loons. It is hard to see the lake from the cabin (lots and lots of trees) but that added to the charm of seclusion. The lake was beautiful. Be careful on the path leading to the lake as it is a little steep for the feeble and elderly. Children and the physically fit (and somewhat fit) will do just fine. The driveway is off the beaten path and is about a half mile drive back from the road. You feel like you are in the wilderness. The cabin itself was clean, well kept and well stocked. I loved all the polished wood (floors, walls and ceiling). You can't help but notice the pride of ownership. There are many afghans to snuggle into on those cool evenings. For those interested in TV, please note the satellite does not pick up local stations (although there is a slightly older/fuzzier TV in the loft that does). The cabin location was ideal for us. We wanted to see as much of Maine as possible during our 6 day stay. We visited Belfast (try the restaurant at the end of Rt. 3, right on the water), Bangor, Old Town, Waterville, Augusta, Camden, Bucksport, Freeport (L.L.Bean), and our highlight - Arcadia National Park and Bar Harbor (best chowder I have ever had!). It would have been easy to spend a full day at Arcadia as well as L.L. Bean. (Maybe...just maybe... Kevin will tell you his L.L. Bean joke!) All cities mentioned previously are an easy drive from the cabin and the scenery was great. We tried to stay off the major highways and instead took the backroads which were well marked (MOST of the time!) I would definitely return and/or rent from this owner again. Enjoy your stay! We did!
