About Cindy Britt

Bob and Cindy Hosford own and manage the Dreamcatcher Cabin and Tanasi Lodge. We pay personal attention and add amenities both inside and outside the properties to provide extra touches not found when not personally managed. We are available full time to provide information on hiking trails, shopping, events, and some discount tickets. The grounds have beautiful flower beds. The most unique aspect of the cabin and lodge is that there is an incredible view of the mountains from both the front AND the rear of the houses - Of sunrises in the front and sunsets in the rear, with complete privacy, quiet, with no cabins in site except way down in the valley - see aerial photos!

Cindy Britt purchased this cabin in 1994

Why Cindy Britt chose Pigeon Forge

There are VERY FEW properties that have 360 spectacular Mountain and Valley Views! The Dreamcatcher has incredible views from the front decks of sunrises over mountain ranges, of Wear's Valley, and Cove Mountain which borders the National Park. The views from the rear decks of incredible sunsets are truly memorable.

What makes this cabin unique

The Dreamcatcher is not in a development, it is at the end of the road (just 2 miles from the main highway), with no houses visible on either side of the cabin and only miles away in the front and the back (see photos!). The area is completely private, quiet and secluded. Having incredible views from both the front and back of the cabin is truly unique!

Guestbook comments from the owner

We just returned from a wonderful week-long stay at the Dreamcatcher Cabin in the sky and had a fantastic time! I had the bad fortune of having to work part of the time while we were there, but it was in the most enjoyable work location I could ever ask for. The top floor of the cabin, which looks out on the valley with spectacular views on both sides, became my ‘office suite’ and allowed the rest of my family to play on the rest of the property while I was busy. In addition to daily excursions to local attractions, the guys did guy things on the bottom level where the pool table and games are, and watched endless guy movies on the big screen TV while the fireplace kept them cozy. We took advantage of the fully equipped kitchen and cooked gourmet meals every evening while we watched what was going on outside all around us. I was delighted to find a lovely selection of adorable serving dishes that we took full advantage of (I am a kitchenware and china-holic). The cabin is spotless and Cindy has made it the most comfortable, welcoming and enchanting place. It feels like a home. Every convenience and comfort you could ask for is provided and attention is paid to every small detail. We left the drapes open when we turned in for the night and fell asleep to twinkling lights in the distance below us. And on one evening I took an indulgent bubble bath in the fabulous whirlpool bathtub and had bubbles up to my ears. After dark, we discovered tiny twinkly white fairy lights entwined among the greenery adorning the rustic stairway that leads to the loft above the main living room. But we turned them off after awhile as they were competing with the lights in the valley below. During our stay, early spring flowers and tree foliage were just beginning to come out and we sat on the lovely wrap-around deck in the rocking chairs and just enjoyed everything. It was so quiet and peaceful that we didn't want to leave. You wouldn’t know there was an enormous vacation playground of activities anywhere near the cabin, but fun and fantasy are only a few miles away if you want it. And if you are a pottery and textile fan like me, there are a vast many exquisitely talented artists in the area who sell their work in a variety of locations. I found several (won’t say how many) lovely things to take home with me that will remind me of my Dreamcatcher stay. We definitely look forward to another peaceful retreat at Cindy and Bob’s cabin in the sky!

I give this property an A +++++

I just had to write you this morning and let you know that we absolutely loved the Dreamcatcher. The view was spectacular as you had said it would be. The cabin was furnished so it made us feel right at home and when we return, you will definitely be the
first one I call for our rental. The Dreamcatcher was totally untouched in comparision with the other cabin we stayed at. I can hardly wait to return and hopefully next time the leaves will be in their fall colors.

We stayed busy going here and there. We visited Cades Cove, Gatlinburg air tram and shopping, Pigeon Forge shopping, Black Bear Jamboree and took the ride over the Smokies into Cherokee, NC and drove further on over to the Deep Creek Park and hiked up to the waterfalls. All in all, we had a great time and enjoyed our stay at the cabin most of all.

Cindy it was such a pleasure to do business with you, I feel like we have been friends forever and I will no doubt be staying at the Dreamcatcher again. It just won't be soon enough for me.

Thanks Cindy and have a wonderful season.

Dreamcatcher - The Magic is Still There

  • 5 of 5
We all have friends that even when separated by a span of time, when we meet, we begin the conversation right where we left off the last time we were together. This past week, I had the opportunity to stay in the Dreamcatcher, something I first did in 1994. Incredibly, I had that same sense of awe this time that I did when I stepped onto the deck 20 years ago, took a deep breath, and took in the incredible valley and mountain views before me. Perhaps there are some things that lose their magic after you’ve seen them a few times. However, the views in both the front and back of the Dreamcatcher will NEVER become ordinary or easily described.

As I exited my vehicle, I immediately noticed the vegetation was lush and full in varying shades of color reflecting a lot of TLC. The colorful leaves of autumn glistened in the sun. Wow. I entered the Dreamcatcher and was both ‘at home’ and pleased; ‘at home’ because of the familiar, inviting, and comfortable surroundings and pleased because Bob and Cindy ensure that the Dreamcatcher is so well maintained that one would think it was built within the last five years or so.
The next morning my reaction was exactly as it was the first time I stayed there. I went from the front deck to the back, catching the sunrise and its light hitting the valley before me and the mountains behind me. I went to both upper decks and then the lower decks, snapping pictures as the sun’s light reflected off the fog in the valley and the yellow, red, brown, and green leaves of the mountains. I must have taken a 100 pictures, wanting to try and capture what I was experiencing.

I'm not sure how many times I have stayed at the Dreamcathcer over the past 20 years, not enough for sure. I trust I'll be able to return, hopefully in the not too distant future. When I do, I know that I’ll be welcomed home once again. I also know that scores of others have stayed there and have been struck by her beauty, both inside and out. If you’re lucky enough to be counted amongst those many, you know exactly what I mean. If you’ve not been there yet, perhaps someday luck, or fate, or your good planning will allow you to experience this friend of mine, too.

Owner's Response: As the owner of the Dreamcatcher and Tanasi Lodge (vrbo.com/4918) I have had the privelage to meet so many wonderful people, and when they return, no matter how long it has been, it is always so wonderful to catch up on their lives, their children, and families.

I guess I never dreamed when I built the Dreamcatcher in 1994 that the future would hold the opportunity to meet so many, and be able to offer them all such wonderful memories.

The Dreamcatcher and Tanasi Lodge have both been such wonderful blessings in our lives, and I feel it has been such a privelage to impact so many lives.

Thank you so very much David for writing such a wonderful note about the Dreamcatcher. I must take the time to go back and copy some of the other wonderful messages you have written in the guest books.

I look forward to you returning and bringing your family in the near future.

AMAZING!!!

  • 5 of 5
This cabin is so amazing I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. The wrap-around deck on the main level and the front and rear decks on the upper level allow for sunrise and sunset views better than anything I've ever seen before. The cabin was clean, well furnished, and is great for a family or friends get-away. The owners Cindy and Bob were so great to work with, so accommodating and friendly.
The ground floor level has a queen bed, sitting area with TV, pool table, video game set, and full bath; the main floor has an open living room/kitchen/dining area and bedroom w/king bed and full bath; and the upper level has 2 sitting areas with 1 TV, bedroom w/king bed and a full bath. The cabin also has a hot tub, outdoor eating table, swing, hammock, gas & charcoal grills, cable & internet, and great cell service).
The cabin is very quiet and private (not one of those resort types with cabins on top of each other). The drive up and down is a little daunting so we scheduled activities to allow us to be back before dark but if you want the views you have to climb the hill!! The cabin is pet friendly, we brought our 3 dogs; however this cabin may be tough on a senior dog, the steps and hills were even a bit much for our 3-5 year old dogs- but they got their exercise that week and so did we!
A car is necessary. There is a great little place to eat called Grandmother's Kitchen at the bottom of the hill that you could walk to but walking home (up those hills) would be challenging. Pigeon Forge is about a 10 minute drive but we stayed away from "tourist row" and instead went for the scenic Smoky Mountains trails and hiking instead.
Without a doubt, the best vacation we've ever had! Thank you Cindy!

So Beautiful!!!! Made For A Perfect Vacation!!

  • 5 of 5
We decided to rent a mountain cabin for our family vacation, and I'm so glad we did!!! The views are amazing, and there is so much to do! The owners think of everything, and we truly just had to bring clothes and food. We could not have hoped for anything better, and we will definitely be returning and referring our friends and family!!! Thank you, Cindy!

Awesome Cabin!!!! Beautiful Views!!!

  • 5 of 5
We just got home from our visit to The Smokies. We've been numerous times but this was our first stay at the Dreamcatcher and it was amazing! We were all fascinated with the interior, decorations, furnishings, and most of all the MAGNIFICENT VIEWS!!! There were six adults and we all had plenty of space. It was so nice to have a place where we could congregate for meals, game time, etc but still have enough room that everyone had their privacy. We were there from 1/1/14 thru 1/5/14. We were pleasantly surprised to see the snow falling on the second evening. IT WAS ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! The snow hung around for a day or so because it was pretty cold. This view is beautiful as it is but the snow-capped mountains were simply breathtaking. This cabin is great for couples, families or groups. It is pet friendly (our doggies came too). The kitchen and dining area are large which is sometimes hard to find with cabin rentals. We would love to visit again and stay at Dreamcatcher. Cindy and Bob are the most gracious hosts. We had no questions or problems that weren't addressed or answered right away.
