Stunning, renovated, historic barn on a 54 acre 'gentleman's farm' hidden within Manchester town limit and bordered by National Forest. Meadows, mountain views, brook, swimming/ice skating pond, hiking/ snowshoe trails, organic garden all on property. Large stone fireplace in living room, and another in pool table room. There is a complete kitchen (with a bread oven!), a hot tub, and for children, a pet cow, and two adorable miniature goats! Abutting Lye Brook Wilderness, where there are more hiking trails and one of Vermont's highest waterfalls. A private, romantic special place. Caretaker and owner on site.

Once the country estate of Ormond Gould and his socialite wife Marion Williams, and later the home and studio of famed painter and fly fishing enthusiast Odgen Pleissner, Boorn Brook Farm has been restored to it's original stunning splendor. The French inspired barn, built in 1820 has wide-beamed floors, soaring ceilings, stone fireplaces and complete country charm. Perfect for a romantic getaway or a country retreat for a small family, Boorn Brook Farm is the quintessential Vermont experience! In the summer, swim in the spring-fed pond with a beach, play tennis on the private court, hike on the private trails or in the bordering Lye Brook Wilderness, fish in the brook, pick fresh veggies from the organic garden or simply relax in one of the hammocks.

In the winter, skate on the pond, sled on the hill, snowshoe or cross country ski on the back trails, and downhill ski or snowboard at nearby Stratton or Bromley Mountains. Then return home to a roaring fire in the stone fireplace, a game of pool, sip some hot chocolate and then watch the sun set behind Equinox Mountain from the hot tub, right outside your master bedroom! Children and adults alike will also enjoy our farm pets, Lola the Brown Swiss Cow, Willie and Skippy the miniature goats, and Ender the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog.

Ski: Stratton and Bromley Mountains are right up the road.

Golf: Golfing abounds in Vermont! Locally, the Equinox gold course is world class.

Relaxing and Beautiful Views

This was one of the best vacations we have had in recent memory. The views were incredible and the farm offered pleasant walks in the pastures or hiking paths to the brook and mountains.

The barn was spacious and fully equipped. The kitchen had everything we needed, the DR/LR was huge and perfect for a small romantic dinner or a larger family gathering. There was a game room with a pool table. The hot tub made for a wonderful night under the stars.

Our dog welcomed all of the open space and hiking. He enjoyed visiting Lola (the cow), Skippy & Willie (the goats), and especially his fellow canine, Enders.

The owners and caretaker were extremely friendly and ensured that we were having a great time.

All in all, an excellent place to stay and we hope to be back soon.
