'Grand Reves' offers year round accommodation with well proportioned rooms providing spacious living. With beautiful stone walls and an abundance of original wood beams it provides that snug cottage feel, whatever the time of year. A true home from home with all the creature comforts you need to make that perfect holiday, weekend or indulgent getaway.

Grand Reves location in the Loire valley is idyllic; Chinon, Azay Le Rideau,Villandry and Amboise are all easily accessible and are some of the hidden gems that make this region rich in tradition and beauty.

The historic walled town of Richelieu is a five minute drive and every Monday and Friday hosts a typically French market selling local cheese, wine and a wide range of locally produced goods. With many Restaurants, cafes and bars the town of Richelieu provides a convenience for those looking for a fully catered holiday.

The house benefits from a convenient location within the village of Braslou, has private secure car parking for up to two cars and offers good sized living accommodation inside and fantastic space out. The house boasts a large private garden with beautiful views over fields and woodland, there is a large terraced area and two further terraced areas approached by lavender lined pathways.

'Grand Reves' is a beautifully appointed three bedroom converted barn and provides spacious accommodation for up to six guests. Living accommodation includes 2 double bedrooms, family bathroom and beautiful master bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The house has a large dining area, sitting room, downstairs cloakroom, entrance hall with floor to ceiling glazed windows and open galleried landing. The kitchen is fully fitted and includes double oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine with tumble drier.

The house offers free wifi, satellite television and French cable television and of course if this is not enough we also provide home cinema entertainment to play your favourite DVDs and an IPod / MP3 dock for your music. There is also a large selection of books and board games for those quiet nights in.

For the younger family, Futuroscope is only a 40 minute drive, offering a very different theme park experience for all the family to enjoy, every night there is a laser and firework show on the lake, worth a visit!

Colette and Jean Marie look after our property throughout the year. They maintain our beautiful garden, prepare the house for our in coming guests and are on call for local advise or any service issues. If required Colette can arrange for a welcome pack on arrival (at an additional cost) with any special requests that you may have.

For many years we have provided holiday accommodation and understand what makes that truly special holiday experience, we live and work for our holidays, we hope we make yours!

Lovely away from it all break

The converted barn is beautifully finished and furnished to a high standard. Slightly outside the village, surrounded by farmland and woodland. Excellent for a quiet get away from it all vacation. The hot tub is a nice addition and was sampled every day by Mrs F!
Free Wi-Fi was also a welcome amenity.
Richelieu nearby is very historic and quaint and there were plenty of Chateau's and other historic sites to keep us very busy within an hours drive.
Local auberge's and restaurants serve good honest tasty food at very reasonable prices.

The accommodation was clean & tidy and had a spacious garden.
All in all a comfortable and delightful place to stay.

Accommodation was very comfortable, very clean and as advertised. It has all the necessary amenities. Nicely located in the Loire region and also close to the Vienne region where we ventured quite a bit. We also spent quite a bit of time around Richelieu and its park. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful new barn conversion

We have just spent a thoroughly enjoyable two weeks at Grands Reves which is superbly placed on the edge of a village, within easy reach of the Loire Valley. The gite has been beautifully converted and decorated with care and good taste. It is clean, new, bright and airy and a joy to return to after a busy day out. Lovely flat country walks straight from the property, and friendly, unobtrusive neighbours next door.
Eva is a pleasure to deal with, answering silly questions promptly, and efficiently. We can definitely recommend a holiday here.

Outstanding luxury pet friendly gite

My husband and I and our dog Barney stayed for 12 nights at Grands Reves. We felt relaxed from the moment that we arrived. We are, by our own admission quite difficult to please especially as taking a pet on holiday often rules out luxury accommodation. We were absolutely delighted with the gite. Clean, comfortable, high end finish and all mod cons. The garden is completely enclosed - so very safe for children and pets. It was a joy to sit on the patio and watch the sunset with a glass of local wine. We visited some of our favorite places in the area Chinon, Saumur, Bourgueil and also ventured over to Loches and even as far as Blois. Some beautiful chateaux are close by and if you do your homework you will always find a festival within easy reach. Our favorite find was the wine festival in Saumur! The housekeepers, a delightful French couple live next door and are there if you need anything. The quality of furnishings and linen is also excellent. We would recommend Grands Reves for families and couples and look forward to returning!! A bientot!

We had a very enjoyable time at Grand Reves.

It is ideally located for those who want a bit of peace an tranquility, yet want to be within easy reach of the many attractions that the Loire area has to offer.

The property is spacious, well appointed and comes with all the equipment and gadgetry you need on holiday.

The garden area is great with plenty of seating and space to have fun late into the evening. Moreover the whole property was incredibly 'child friendly'; both the adults and kids could relax within the thoughtfully enclosed garden. This was particularly great for us as we have a 5 year old active disabled son. We felt confident in giving him the space to explore without being constantly on edge at his side.

Furthermore the property was exceptionally well equipped and clean upon arrival.....it felt like a home from home.

Eva has been great throughout the booking process and advising us on our stay.

I would highly recommend the property and look forward to returning to it when we next visit the Loire area.

A superb "get-away-from-it-all" gite

A wonderful find! I had just about given up hope of finding somewhere that would meet my expectation for character with modern facilities, and be clean (can't stand having to wash everything before we eat or fearing reaching into cupboards in case of spiders or worse). I also have a serious ant phobia, so was truly delighted that I saw only one the entire week and that was in the garden where they belong.
A superbly equipped gite. Surrounded by beautiful countryside which was being harvested at an incredible pace as the weather was amazing.
The neighbours were very friendly and helpful and even put up with my attempts at speaking French.
We had planned a trip to Futuroscope, but having read the reviews on the Futuroscope website (!!) decided to save the money. So we went to the Parc St Cyr instead, which was a beautiful lake/beach with pedalos, kayaks etc - a welcome relief on a day when it was 38 degrees.
Richelieu was close enough for convenience and the market on Friday had some interesting cheeses! A day in Saumur was also worth the drive. It is twinned with Warwick and we were delighted to all be able to get into Saumur castle for less than 1 person into Warwick.
We found a local organic wine producer in Razines, which made the most gorgeous Gamay - not the cheapest (7 euros a bottle) but well worth the extra.
The garden was wonderfully big for the children to play badminton etc, and could only really be improved by a pool - although I appreciate they take a lot of maintenance.
I don't know whether the weather we experienced was unusually hot, but upstairs in the house could be quite stifling at night - and with harvest disturbing the bugs outside it was not always easy to have the windows open. There were some effective fans, but maybe some more would help?

Thanks for all your comments, both myself and Eva are delighted your stay was to your satisfaction. As you know the house has been our renovation project for the last eighteen months, and you were our third guests since opening this season. Grand Reves is still our working project and we are returning in October this year to continue our quest!! You may be please to know that on our shopping list this visit is a dip pool / hot tub which will be located adjacent to the summer house. We are proposing to create a decked area which will allow the pool to be sunken, creating a clean private space for additional sunbathing. Hopefully this will be completed by November 2013, we will obviously post updated pictures to show these improvements !

Extra fans will be added to all the bedrooms in October and if possible air conditioning could be added subject to costs, again we will advise on the property details if air conditioning is added.

Once again thank you for all your comments which are valued to ensure future clients enjoyment.

We hope to welcome your family again...... perhaps 2014 ?
