The Gers is a lovely department and still very unspoilt in many areas. Access to the Pyrenees is straightforward and a day trip to Pau should not be missed. The restaurant at Bardiques ( 25 minutes) serves excellent food but be sure to reserve as its very popular. Valence d'Agen market on a Tuesday is excellent with first class local produce. Lunch at the La Gavotte is a must for one of their salads.
Located in the beautiful Gers countryside in the heart of Gascony, there are a number of towns to visit such as Fleurance and Lectoure, both with shops, restaurants and markets. There are many other markets selling local produce, and you can't visit the Gers without sampling some local Armagnac at one of the many local distilleries.
St Clar village 10 mins for restaurant and pharmacy. Fleurance 10 mins for shops, supermarkets & restaurants. Lectoure 20 mins for weekly market, shops, restaurants. Auch 35 mins. Toulouse airport 1 hr 30 mins. Tennis in St Clar village. Horse riding, bicycle hire, golf and leisure lake for activities 15 mins.
