Enjoy a true VT, old time 1920's camp on the lake! One of the very last ones ones left! Many of the original features have been retained, but with updated, modern bath and kitchen. The camp is very comfortable, but not fancy in any way. Please look at all the pictures posted here. Laugh at the funny 1920's linoleum, but enjoy brand new beds and 100 ft right on Lake Champlain in quaint village of Shelburne. Kitchen is equipped with enough plates and pots, etc for a big party, but don't look for fine china and matching everything! Fabulous western views of the Adirondacks & sunsets. Fully equipped kitchen. Private beach with steps to lake. Great level lawn for kids and sitting in your lawn chair. Well behaved pets most welcome! . Quiet, private community. Casual, perfect spot to relax. No worries about damaging fancy furniture or carpets. Close to Shelburne Farms and Burlington.

My family purchased this property in 1955. At the time, the entire area was summer camps! We are the last camp left on Shelburne Bay.
This camp is such a jewel. It's so cozy and warm and has everything you could want; the true Vermont camp experience I remembered from my youth and wanted to recreate for my children. We had a fire in the fireplace several nights and BBQ'd outside. The porch is perfect for sleeping or eating. We lazily floated on air mattresses in the lake.
Excellent location for access to Burlington or Shelburne. We searched high and low for this experience. This is one of the few camps left that is right on the lake and convenient to everything. Just a jewel! Can't wait to come back.
Loved the location, views galore! Sitting on the porch, or on the lawn was so relaxing and all the amenities one would need are right there. Clean and well-maintained for a 1920's cabin, who could ask for anything more? Thanks!!
The location and view from this house are great but everything else is lacking. The beds and furniture are very uncomfortable, the floor is cracked linoleum and the interior needs painting. We have stayed
at two other lake champlain houses that had narrow, but sandy beaches. The rocky shoreline makes swimming very difficult, even with water shoes. We enjoyed our stay in spite of the house ,which should not be the case.
As you drive down the driveway to this quaint camp, you are presented with a breath taking view of Shelburne Bay, complete with sailboats and mountains! The dogs raced out of the car and directly into the lake, quickly followed by the kids. We love being able to sit on the porch and watch the sunset over the lake while we eat dinner. The cabin is well appointed, with everything you could ask for. Perfect for families with kids or pets! I can see coming back every year! Thanks for sharing such a special place!
I just loved my time staying here. Not for the fancy, but truly in the tradition of the simple and modest camps that bounded this lake for almost 80 years. This camp is basic and well stocked. Nothing is too precious, so you don't need to worry, but everything works and functions as you need it to.
The nights out on the porch, surrounded by friends and family, over looking the lake, with the world's best sunsets wrapping around you, are the stuff of lifelong memories.
If you want de luxe, be prepared to pay double or triple the cost of this camp, cuz the taxes on lakefront property are horrendous and almost all camps like this have been demolished to make place for trust fund heirs and IT startup princelings. And rental prices reflect accordingly.
This "camp" is FAR below standard for VRBO offerings [I have rented several others]. Located on a level shaded lawn looking out over Shelburne Bay, as advertised. But the building is low grade, even for a "camp," with furnishings of poor quality, old cracked vinyl on the floors, and minimal creature comforts. The electricity and plumbing do work and there is no evidence of mold or mildew. The advertised "private beach" is narrow, densely covered in rocks, no sand. Everything about this place looks cheap, from chipped dishes jammed into a cabinet to the shoddy coverings on beds. My approach to life is pretty basic, and I've had lots of experience camping, hiking, renting cottages, renovating houses, etc. I know how to be creative about a tough situation, but I refused to spend a single night in this property.
