2 Bedroom Bright Flat In A 13th Century House, Canal View, Terrace.

This lovely flat is located in the heart of Dorsoduro, near the Ca’ Rezzonico’s vaporetto stop. Canal View, a large wood roof terrace and it is very bright and spacious. It is a first and second floor apartment perfectly divided in a manner that allow privacy and independence for 4 persons and at the same time it has common areas that makes living in Ca’ Barbarina a unique Venetian experience.

The terrace faces the canal and the Venetian roofs. Crossing the terrace you reach the 'romantic' cosy twin bedroom that has an ensuite bathroom and it is located on the second floor near the terrace. The master bedroom is very large and it has an ensuite bathroom as well. The apartment has a kitchenette with all equipment needed to cook. The living room is very large and it has a large sofa e and 5 comfortable soft armchairs. The distinctive point of this flat is the dining room, this space has a fantastic setting, a balcony with a 13th century “gotico fiorito” mullioned window with 2 lights that cannot be more Venetian than this!

We stayed here for a week during winter. It was warm and cosy - the flat is fabulous. It is in a great location, close to the main attractions and surrounded by good local restaurants. The young man who showed us around the flat was great - he knew where the local supermarket and other critical things like a weekly vegetable market and the best places to eat where, and marked them on our map. The kitchen us easy to cook in and has lots of cutlery and crockery for 4 adults.
The flat has everything that you could possibly need including a coffee machine. All the equipment works well although if you turn on multiple appliances such as the washing machine, oven and kettle simultaneously you will probably blow the electric fuses. This is easy to fix, and is a problem in Venice rather than specifically with the apartment. The Internet is also slow, but again not a problem specific to this apartment. The second bedroom and second bathroom is in the 'attic' - which is accessed via a rooftop veranda. We had a great view of the New Year's Eve fireworks and views over the rooftops of Venice. The dining room, lounge room and main bedroom overlook a quiet canal and the apartment is off a quiet square with a Grom ice cream store almost next door, a local deli and coffee shop on the other side.
The apartment is highly recommended for adults - the attic bedroom would be a problem for small children, but is good for privacy if you are sharing the apartment with another couple. The lounge room and dining room will comfortably seat eight and is very spacious for four.
