Holiday villa Elba island - This is an elegant property in a country style with spacious areas in which to relax, both inside and outside the house. The sea is in close proximity - there are stunning views - and the closest sandy beach is just about walkable, about 30 minutes away on foot. The estate setting makes for a very convenient lifestyle, with everything you need on hand.

The property itself is well appointed throughout with red-tiled floors and floral patterns in some rooms, and is generally light and airy. There is a natural coolness from the sea, whilst shutters on all windows and most rooms with ceiling fans ensure comfort during summer. Two upper floor bedrooms share a balcony with views over the pool and towards the sea. The pool is located about twenty metres from the villa.

There's plenty to enjoy on this lovely island! The ancient town of Capoliveri is a pretty place: the passeggiata at sunset in the historic town centre with its charming side streets and piazzas is bound to be on your list of places to visit. Portoferraio, the island's main town and port, is well worth a visit too. You can make the most of the natural hot springs and spa facilities at the well-known San Giovanni Spa, and Elba is a popular destination if you want to try scuba diving. The golf club at Acquabona is set in a particularly verdant area, with old olive and eucalyptus trees. Or you might want to cycle around the island - there is a breathtaking itinerary from Marina del Campo to the Segagnana coast, but it's not for the faint-hearted! Or maybe just make the most of relaxing on the beach ...

Double bedroom with sea views and access to balcony. Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room. All rooms with ceiling fan except children's bunk-bedded room on ground floor. Villa del Fiore is situated on a private 350-hectare natural park enjoying a secluded, peaceful location. Within a short distance are two restaurants (one beach side), a mini-market, tennis, an equestrian centre, mountain bike hire, a large communal pool and a bar. There is also a water sports centre offering scuba diving. There are several lovely beaches for the guests of the estate (finding your own patch of sand is easy!)

Slightly further afield (4 miles) is the town of Capoliveri that offers a wider selection of restaurants and shops. The evening passeggiata in the historic town centre is always an enjoyable experience. You can also enjoy free summertime concerts in the main square, which has a wonderful view over the gulf. Elba itself has numerous beaches and other points of interest to explore including of course a historical legacy from ones of Elba's most famous residents, Napoleon.

On a private estate with children's club, mountain bike hire, tennis, equestrian centre, scuba diving centre, sandy beach, restaurants, mini-mart and a large communal pool and bar – all within 2 miles (max 20 mins by bike).

Town of Capoliveri 5 miles for a larger selection of shops & restaurants. Porto Azzuro 10 miles. Portoferraio 16 miles. Elba airport 19 miles. Nearest public golf course 10 miles.

Notes: Getting to Elba - Elba island is just 20 kilometres or so from the mainland of Italy. Getting to your accommodation is easy, there are a number of options: 1) Fly to Pisa airport, meet chauffeur (with car, minibus etc) in arrival hall, travel to Piombino and board ferry as foot passenger. At arrival ferry terminal pick up hire car for 25 minutes drive to accommodation or taxi. 2) Fly to Pisa airport, take a hire car to Piombino in about 1 hour/1.5 hrs (or another ferry point) and take the ferry crossing with car (1 hour). The villa is about 25 minutes drive from the arrival ferry terminal. 3) Fly to Pisa, Florence or Milan, take connecting flight to Elba directly. Take hire car from airport to accommodation.
