Marvelous flat!!

We stayed here for a week till 13 October and hope to return next year. This is a delightful home and stunning contrast to a hotel of whatever class. As two American couples (including one couple new to London) it was especially enjoyable to be able to stay in an English home in a non-touristy neighborhood dating to Victorian times. The photos currently posted on VRBO don't include either of the bathrooms but they are quite nice, especially the shower in the ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom, which is actually the largest with a huge bay window, is only a few steps from the other bathroom next to the living room.

The Earl's Court tube station is two blocks to the south. A large 24/7 Tesco grocery is two blocks to the north. Many pubs, small restaurants, and shops are a few blocks east along Earl's Court Road.
The tube station is served by the multiple District lines in almost all directions as well as the Piccadilly line, which in 40 minutes westbound connects to Heathrow. The eastbound trains to South Kensington, Knightsbridge, Hyde Park Corner, and Green Park were perfect for commuting to morning runs in the royal parks.

On our second or third morning the closet door in the ensuite bedroom somehow became locked shut. There was no key to it in the flat, but Nigel was able to drop by while we were off at breakfast and kindly liberate our clothes. It was a pleasure to briefly meet him. Ditto for Joanna, who met us exactly on time to let us into Nevern Mansions and welcome us to the third-floor flat (4th floor American).

Both bedrooms and the living room are to the rear with no noise from traffic on Warwick Road on the frontage. There is a small but efficient lift, but most of the time we walked up the carpeted stairs -- a bit of extra exercise.

We had a wonderful stay in your flat, the place is simply amazing, felt like home as soon as we walked in. The flat is very well kept and has all the amenities that you could want. Also the location is perfect for travelling via the tube.

We had a fabulous stay at your apartment. It far exceeded our expectations. You've done a great job with the decor and the kids enjoyed finding all the Terrier objects and ornaments we found around the apartment. We found the beds and furnishings to be very comfortable. Lovely apartment, clean and interesting to look at (lots of interesting paintings), conveniently located just a few blocks from Earl's Court tube station. The neighborhood is funky, but not grungy -- it reminded us of Noe Valley in San Francisco. My husband, 10 yr old daughter and I had a great time there -- lots of breakfast places nearby and a terrific Thai restaurant that was wonderful for a jetlagged family on the day of arrival. Owner and young woman who manages/cleans the apartment were very responsive -- and I could get hold of them via email, which was a big plus. Flat is on 4th level -- so we used the elevator, which was small but safe and functioning, all the time. I would fefinitely rent it again.

Earls Court Rd is a bustling high street with all its conveniences, less than a 5 minute walk from the flat through a garden square and tree lined streets. There you find café, restaurants, chemist, supermarkets, doctors, gym, pubs, and bars. The area is safe to walk around night and day.

Earls Court Exhibition Centre is 150 metre away from the flat, opposite the entrance of the underground and hosts many different types of events, concerts and shows.

A 5 minute tube ride will take you to the various museums around South Kensington, i.e the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Victoria and Albert Museum.

5 minutes on on the tube would have you in Kensington gardens, with Kensington Palace, the Serpentine Gallery and Hyde Park, home to the Serpentine waterway, many cafés and boat hire during the summer months.

Knightsbridge is 8 minutes away on the tube, where you have Harrods and Harvey Nichols department stores. The new Wastfields mall, with a world of luxury shopping is walking distance or 10 minutes by bus.

The West End is 15 minutes on the tube for theatres, shows and Soho life style.

London Eye where you can see London from the air, Big Ben, House of Parliament, Westminster Abbey, Buckingham Palace with the change of the guard and St James Park are all no more than a 15 minute tube ride away.
