This chalet in Southern Vermont has everything you need for a memorable trip. The feel is rustic with the natural wood walls, cathedral ceilings and two huge field stone fireplaces. But you will also find most of the luxuries of home such as two TVs with DVD players, and a stereo with a hook-up for your iPod or MP3 player. The dining area boasts a large table with room for up to 12. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher and microwave. Downstairs there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. It is located in a private and natural setting only 15 minutes from Mount Snow or Lake Whitingham. For summer renters: The huge deck wraps completely around the home and has a gas grill. It is only a 10 minute walk through the woods to the lake where our canoe is stored for your use. The lake is calm and quiet with a gradual sandy entry. It's perfect for swimming! This vacation property is real Vermont, real close. Our home is in a perfect location and only 2 ½ hours from Boston and 4 hours from NYC. So you’ll spend more of your precious vacation time at our house or at the lake and less of it on the road. In addition, it is only a short 15-minute drive from the house into “downtown” Wilmington. This postcard pretty small town has many unique and old-fashioned shops, galleries, and restaurants as well as a large grocery store. Great quiet family get away

My wife, my five children (between the ages of 2-12) and I have been to lake raponda 3 of the last 4 summers. We have enjoyed every minute of it. The lake is clean and their is not a huge drop off in the water so all the kids can swim and play. We love taking the canoe out on the lake and exploring. Swimming to
the raft with the
older kids while my wife relaxes on the dock is a family favorite
as well.
We love the house, it is big, roomy and in
great shape. Even on a rainy day there is plenty of room for my family of 7 to relax, play or watch a movie. The two full baths both with hot showers is key for my wife and two daughters. All the utensils you need are provided, you only have to bring the food. We cook burgers on the grill or pasta in the full kitchen. At night we put all the kids to bed downstairs and my wife and I relax and talk or watch a movie together. It is a great family get away that doesn't take 6 hours to get their from southern New England, I recommend it to anyone!

Nice Rental

My friends and I recently rented for the week and it was great. The lake is a bit of a treck with big inflatable tubes, but Lake Raponda was really fresh and wasn't crowded at all. The canoe was a nice addition to help explore the other side of the lake. The house itself was spaceous. The mattresses were a bit flat and uncomfortable, but nothing a mattress pad wouldn't fix.
The quaint main-street town and grocery store are really close-by and there are parks in sthe surrounding areas. Wilmington is somewhat centered between 2 towns that offer more to do, but other than that its a bit of a hike to anywhere else in the state.
Overall, we had a great time and if we would definately consider this house again if heading back to southern Vermont.

Terrific Getaway for Family

We love renting this house for our family get-togethers! There is plenty of room for everyone and we especially enjoy having breakfast on the deck. The house is clean and the beds are very comfortable. We have been able to sit all 10 of us around the tv in the livingroom for playing Wii games, or just talking. We get to spend time together at the large dinner table and the kitchen is huge so we can all cook together. The home is easy to get to and is very close to restaurants in Wilmington. We love the lake! It is very close and easy to get to and pretty -- the canoe is great! We have had many fun times fishing and swimming and just hanging out.

What a relaxing getaway. Myself & my family had some nice quality time away from home. This rental is a wonderful vacation spot and well worth the time to get there. Once there we felt welcomed by the spacious home which had most everything we needed. The grocery store is within a reasonable drive, and a fun recreation spot for the children at North Star, just a few miles away. There were no unexpected surprises or dissapointments. We even got to see deer while we were there, right in the woods near the house. There was plenty of sleeping arrangements to choose from and the children definately liked the bunk room. We'll see you again next fall or sooner if we can. Thank you for opening up your home to us.
