Palheiro Village is situated within the 200 year old Palheiro Estate, a former hunting estate. The Palheiro Estate now comprises of the Palheiro Village , the 18 hole golf course, Palheiro Golf, the 5* country hotel Casa Velha, the gourmet restaurant Relais & Chateaux , a newly built spa and the world famous sub-tropical gardens, Palheiro do Ferreiro. Enjoy wonderful walks on the trails and stop for lunch at the garden tea house or the Palheiro Clubhouse panorama restaurant. The Palheiro Village consists of freehold apartments with private car parking, landscaped gardens, and facilities including an outdoor heated pool, pool bar & reception. Traditional in design and high in specification, it sets new standards of comfort and quality in Madeira. Discounts on spa, golf, big game fishing and much more, are available to clients booking direclty with the Palheiro Village reception (please contact Vera). Offering result-driven skincare in a luxury spa package, with a range of therapeutic professional massages, Palheiro Spa aims to set a new standards. Palheiro Gardens : The gardens at 'Quinta do Palheiro' are famous not only for the variety of plants that grow there but for the beauty of their setting. Madeira has long been called the ' floating garden ' and it seems that almost anything will grow in its fertile soil. In Funchal many tropical plants have found a home and the visitor can see Hibiscus and Bougainvillaea in flower almost all the year round along with Jacaranda, Spathodeas, Erythrinas and Bauhinias in their seasons. The Palheiro gardens are situated at about 500 metres above sea level.

All of our one-bedroom units have sea views and beautiful balconies where one can enjoy sunset after sunset. Very high quality furnishings and fittings provide all the luxuries of a home away from home. All the kitchens are fully fitted with a dishwasher, stove, oven, washing machine & microwave oven. Floor heating is in the bathroom and all one-bedroom units are airconditioned. The open plan dining area leads into the lounge area, where you will find a wood burning fireplace. The terrace has an outdoor dining area and sun loungers. Towels and bed linen are provided as are pool towels. Maid service is twice a week.

About Palheiro Village

Dear guests! Originally from Vancouver, B.C, I left Canada in 1991 to travel through Europe. Having lived in Austria, Germany and having parents from the former Yugoslavia, catering to our international clientele is not a problem. However, due to Madeira´s wonderful climate and lifestyle, I chose to make this magnificent island my home. Now, 17 years later , I have the pleasure of working for the Family Blandy. The Palheiro Estate / Village is not simply a holiday destination, it is a home away from home. The Palheiro Village team and I look forward of welcoming you to this beautiful island and our even more so property. Welcome!
