LAKE ONTARIO COTTAGE RENTAL, SANDY POND NEAR SALMON RIVER NY

This cottage, as well as the other cottages, are well kept and are conveniently located near the water. The owners always make me feel like I was part of their family. Whatever we needed, was always suppliied to us. The fishing has always been excellent, and we can store our fish in a deep freezer, which is also supplied to us. It's also a great place to take my family. My friends and I have been using these cottages, for many years, and we will continue to go, for many years to come!

August 2008 - a wonderful time for a relaxing, restful vacation at Duck Blind with my best friend and our two dogs. The cottage was perfect and gave us each our own space during our stay. I thought I was being nice in giving my friend the bedroom with the corner windows to capture a better breeze but I think I ended up with the best room. Lots of storage space and plenty of room for my dog.

The views from this property are gorgeous and the sunsets spectacular. We also had a great view of the channel to Lake Ontario and, on windy days, could see the waves rolling in from the lake. Awesome!

Enjoying my morning cup of coffee outside after walking the dogs was a treat. The quietness of the water was only broken by the flapping wings of geese landing or the occasional boater driving through the channel. I loved it!

The cottage was everything it was said to be on the website and more. It really is cute and it's wonderful that Dave and Anne are trying to preserve the 50's feel of the cottage. We enjoyed it very much - especially the porch. A great place to play games or cards. We had everything we needed in the kitchen too.

The pleasantness of our hosts was very much appreciated. Dave and Anne are such nice, welcoming people and do everything they can to ensure a good experience for their guests – right down to making sure we had a cork screw to open bottles of wine! My sister and her children came to play in the water and visit us one day and it was great to share the quietness and beauty of the surroundings with my family. The kids would have liked a little "more action" but they enjoyed themselves for the afternoon. If we'd had a boat they would have been in their glory.

We left Duck Blind fully relaxed and rested. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful place to rest and regroup. Those with boats or canoes would be able to enjoy being near the water more fully.

When I’m ready for a relaxing, quiet week again I will definitely consider any of the three cottages owned by Dave and Anne. They are wonderful hosts, maintain their cottages and land very well and are nice people to be around.

My family has rented the Duck Blind cottage two years in a row and we had a great experience. My husband, myself and three small children were very pleased with the accomodations. They were clean, well maintained and the owners are very accomodating. The cottage was exactly what we expected and is very quaint, fairly private and has a great view of the Pond. My children loved playing in the large yard, fishing on the docks and swimming right out front. My husband brought our boat and we found some terrific boaters beaches that were close by and just beautiful. We throughly enjoyed our vacations at the Duck Blind and have recommended this property to several other family members who are now regulars each year. We will be enjoying our 4th year renting with this owner. We highly recommend the Duck Blind.
