Enjoy your holiday in central location of Cape Dauphin at the base of Kelly's Mountain, in a private, newly built cottage (built 2002), over 1300 square feet, cathedral ceilings, maple hardwood floors throughout, open concept kitchen and living area, loft, screened in deck that serves as an extra dining area, south facing wall that is all windows with panoramic views of the Bras D' or Lakes, nice breeze from ocean.

Located on a private beach, you can walk for miles and not see anybody. From Cape Dauphin you can do all your day trips around the island. Down the road there is Kelly's wharf where you can fish mackerel, buy fresh lobster, join in with the cottagers for a bonfire. Close by there is Bird Island boat tours, boat charters and whale watching, world-class golf course (Bell Bay), Highlands National Park, hiking trails, Alexander Graham Bell Museum and historic fortress of Louisbourg. It is 50 minutes from Sydney, 30 minutes to shopping area in North Sydney, 25 minutes to the tourist town of Baddeck.

Restaurants and groceries: There are a few restaurants close by. The cottage is approximately a 15 min drive down a dirt road (excellent condition) to the Trans Canada Highway. There are three good restaurants 10 min from the TransCanada Highway. Cedar House Family Restaurant and Bakery, Benders - Italian plus other, Country Classic. The grocery store is 20 min drive to North Sydney or a 20 min drive to Baddeck.

We really enjoyed our stay at your cottage. It’s a beautiful place, and a perfect location for day trips to discover all that Cape Breton has to offer. We are pleased that we found your cottage.

For others renting the property - tips:
The add does not promise a pool and hot tub - but they are there. If your really want it working, I would suggest working it out with the owner prior to the rental.

A Little Piece of Heaven

Spectacular sun sets, the view is beautiful. The cottage was bright, spacious and super clean. Very private and quite a spot for a family gathering. It is centrally located, close to North Sydney for shopping. During a shopping trip we decided to stop at a restaurant called Captain Ron's Restaurant; we recommend that you try it, best "home cooked" food we've tasted.

My only suggestions for improvement are:
Hot tub working
Swimming pool working
Dryer

I cannot wait for my next vacation to the Island as I would love to stay here again is was quite a treat.

We arrived after a long drive from Halifax and the place was immaculate. Beautiful design and inviting rooms. Close enough to Baddeck but far enough away...

Remember to bring all staples you will need if cooking. Including salt!

I've stayed in this lovely home, on the last week of September, 2006. It was a place not to be forgotten. It was peaceful and relaxing.

The location was central to all sorts of day trips. Across the bay was a great little restaurant/bakery where the staff was friendly, the meals were great and the price was right.

The house was clean and spacious. The view was incredible and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

The only problem we had, was that the twin beds were actually bunks. It's okay for kids, but adults would have a hard time with it.

One bedroom is a loft with a sofa and a bed. It's bright and offers a full view of the water. A 2 piece washroom is on the same floor which is really convenient when it's dark.

Four adult women were sharing and everyone of us loved it. We will go back there some day.
