The Waterloo West Apartment is a beautifully decorated, 754 square foot, 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom dwelling (one of the bathrooms is an en-suite to the master bedroom). There are 2 Queen-sized beds, and the apartment can house up to 5 guests at once.

The spacious living room boasts a dining table with 4 chairs, two sofas, and a coffee table. The kitchen comes complete with all modern amenities, including a dishwasher, a washing machine, and a microwave, and, of course, all pots, pans, and crockery, which will enable you to self-cater as desired.

Both bedrooms have double glazed windows and very well sound insulated floors. Overall, the rooms are very light, airy, and have a clean, crisp décor, with ample space and a comfortable, quiet aura, to ensure a good night's rest.

The apartment has two bathrooms; one being an en suite to the master bedroom. Both bathrooms have a modern finish with sleek cream tiles and contemporary features and fittings. They're fully stocked with soaps, shower gels, shampoo, and conditioner. We also provide ample linen, towels, and toilet paper for your stay.

Waterloo is a district of London, England, and part of the London Borough of Lambeth. It is situated 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Charing Cross. The area is part of a business improvement district known as Waterloo Quarter, which includes The Cut and the Old Vic and Young Vic theatres, including some sections in the London Borough of Southwark.

The area was marshland towards the northern tip of the ancient parish of Lambeth. It was known as Lambeth Marshe, but was drained in the 18th century and is remembered in the Lower Marsh street name.

Waterloo is connected to the Strand area on the north bank of the River Thames by Waterloo Bridge. The first bridge on the site was opened in 1817 and the current bridge was opened in 1945. The bridge was named to commemorate the Battle of Waterloo in 1815. Waterloo Road also dates from this time, built on land belonging to the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Church of St John the Evangelist, Waterloo Road was constructed from 1822 by the Commissioners for Building New Churches as the population of the parish of Lambeth had significantly increased. After the opening of Waterloo railway station in 1848 the locality around the station and Lower Marsh became known as Waterloo.

Abominable service, poorly maintained

My family of 5 has rented apartments in many countries in Europe, the U.S. and Canada, so I feel like I am a decent judge of what to expect. When I paid in full for this apartment, 8 days prior to arrival, I requested an early check-in, to be permitted to enter at noon instead of the normal 3pm, via the notes section of the confirmation form. I did not hear back, but when I received an email asking from the property manager asking me to confirm my check-in time, it was listed by the company as noon, so I assumed approval. I changed the check-in to 12:30 via a pull down menu; I thought this was likely to be our arrival time.

We arrived at 12:40 or so and tried the codes we were given for the door. After the 6th attempt with no luck, I went down the street to find a pay phone to call the management company, leaving my husband, our 3 daughters, and luggage outside on the street. A hotel down the block (Travelodge) kindly let me use their phone. When I called the management company, the person kept neglecting to speak into the phone, so it was very hard to hear her, though when I mentioned each time that I was unable to hear, the situation would be temporarily corrected. When I explained the situation, they said they had never received my request, though I see it very clearly in the report - from their system - of my confirmation. In addition, even if they didn't receive it, when they asked for my check-in time and I changed what was in their system - 12 - to 12:30, shouldn't this have alerted them? At any rate, it was now 1:30pm, they knew the situation, and they offered to give me new codes to allow me to enter at that time for an additional payment of 75 pounds, almost 1/2 a day's rent - for early admittance of one hour for a mistake they made - while knowing that my 3 kids were sitting out with our luggage on a February day on the sidewalk.

We arrived to find the apartment - which is spacious and decently appointed - with a busted blind in the living room, a door falling off the hinges on the bedroom side table, and I just turned on the washing machine to discover that it is placed in such a way that makes it impossible to add detergent without the detergent spilling all over the floor. I vaccuumed it up and in doing so, touched the baseboard of the sink - a propped up piece of siding, I didn't realize - which caused it to fall off.

A nice apartment is sadly not being maintained, and the management company was terrible.

Excellent service

My experience with Boutique London Lets was exemplary. When I called for the key, the service was very prompt. The lobby of the building "Waterloo White" was a little dingy but the flat was very bright with floor to ceiling windows, spacious, on the 6th floor with great views and the elevator worked well. We were hosting our daughter's wedding so requested a place that could accommodate the bridal party and pre-wedding prep and this flat did not disappoint. There were some service issues and I emailed the company and they were dealt with immediately the next day. Initially I was surprised that from Canada, I was emailing with NZ, for a flat in London but as I understand it, in order to provide round the clock service, there are operators in many different time zones. The only complaint that was not attended to as it is beyond their control was the morning noise from about 5 buildings down as there was construction but other than that, it was a perfect flat for our needs.

Stay in Waterloo apartments

We stayed for 17 nights in two apartments... Apartment 11 White (9 nights) and later apartment 2 Blue. Apartment 11 White provided all what we needed.. cleanliness, enough cooking utensils, ample kitchen storage, fast internet connection and new furnitures. The Washer/Dryer worked excellently well, the room heating was superb and the apartment also had a big screen TV. This apartment was home away from home.

Unlike apt 11 White, the experience in apartment 2 Blue was not too pleasant. While all the amenities were available in 2 Blue, most of them were not working properly. The settees need changing and was an eye sore. The washer worked perfectly well while the dryer section did not work. There was interrmittent disconnection of the Wifi which the Management promised to replace with similar apt 11 White broadband. All the issues observed were passed to the Management and prompt actions were taken. The fridge which malfunctioned was quickly replaced and the Management, unsolicited, made a refund of Gbp50.00 to take care of the incovenience. This was an excellent customer relationship. The kitchen area needs more storage space as cooking utensils were placed on the water heater. 264 Waterloo is near the tube stations as described by Management and centrally located.

I strongly recommend periodic check on equipment and appliance (preventive maintenance)in the apartments to forestall disruption during occupation. In all it was an excellent experience in 260 Waterloo apartments. No regrets! We shall in future return to this apartment.

Great location

The location is great! Very close to the tube and has shops in easy walking distance for anything you need. Also can easily walk to London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster abbey etc. We had three children with us 13, 10, 10 and place was very good for them. We stayed in a flat in the front and it is loud with bus traffic -- I would ask for a flat in the back off the street if possible. Getting the key was also very easy -- we called a car service and the key was there in less than 10 minutes. All in all very good place.
