2 bedrooms, 1 full bath, eat-in porch, motor boat and boathouse, sleeps 4-8

This comfortable, rustic, family Adirondack cottage offers spectacular views of one of NY State's most scenic lakes - Trout Lake. Great fishing, canoeing, rowing, and swimming. It is very affordable and all the basics are included. Property sits on a 3/4 acre of land and includes the house, barn and a boathouse with large dock and ladder allowing for easy lake access for swimming, boating, and sunbathing. Fabulous decks overlook the lake. Below one deck is another dock area for non-motorized water vessels.

A Propane heater keeps the house nice and toasty. Cozy, screened-in porch is great for meals overlooking the lake. The lake is calm for water skiing for those who choose to bring their own motor boat and great for fishing too. We provide a row boat with a small motor, and a canoe. One third of the lake is State land and forever wild, which is great for hiking and exploring.

Cottages can be rented jointly or separately. Molly's 2 bedroom cottage is pet friendly

'So many spots at this beautiful location where you can sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the lake and it's surroundings. A beautiful deck overlooking the lake with table and chairs. A great spot for evening beverages and snacks and star gazing. The dock that is by the boathouse on the lake is great for sunning and water sports. The row boat (also has a trolling motor in case you don't want to row), the sailboat, the canoe and the paddle boat are all available for taking out and exploring on the lake. And for those sun bathers there is a very nice wooden raft you can swim out to and just relax and enjoy the beautiful nature. With over 250 of lake front you have all the room in the world ! Straight across the lake is a wonderful sandy beach'.

Nearest Airport : Syracuse at 110 Miles

Located about 20 minutes from Governeur and 30 minutes from Canton and Potsdam, this spot is a hidden gem. Many other nearby lakes do not offer the peace and serenity of Trout Lake since half of the lake is owned by the state and forever wild, yet full of beautiful scenery, hiking trails, swimming, boating, camping, fishing and more. If you want to be off the beaten path yet still in the beautiful Adirondacks, this is the place for you.

A wonderful, rustic place!

We were delighted when we pulled up to the back door of the cottage. Stepping inside was even better. Rustic in the best possible meaning of the word, this is a true lake cottage, with lots of wood and windows. We loved it and plan to go back.
One drawback...there is a chainsaw artist who lives next door and that ruined a full day for us. It is very loud! Can't imagine if it went more than a day.
With that said, we will still go back. A wonderful place! The lake is stunning and having the various lake vehicles to use was a great way to experience it.
Owner's Response: The chainsaw artist will be moving by springtime so this will no longer be an issue.

A nice cabin

What a great place to retreat from the hectic city life. No TV. The best view on the entire beautiful lake. Quiet. Lots of shady trees. A screened in porch that somehow makes every meal taste better. My favorite place is the deck which extends over the water. It provides an awesome view of the stars at night and is a perfect place to hang out with family/friends and rejuvenate relationships. I love waking in the morning to the sound of a loon and seeing the sun rising over the lake and tree line.

This cottage also makes a nice base station for hiking trips. There are trails nearby and magnificent waterfalls not too far away. I’ve been to the top of four of the 46 Adirondack High Peaks so far and hope to visit many more as I return again and again.
