Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 5-6)

This two-bedroom apartment is located adjacent to the owner's home on more than 2.5 acres in the upper hillside of south Anchorage, Alaska. The rental is equipped with a full kitchen and laundry facilities. Bedrooms have blackout curtains to help you sleep under the midnight sun! A fabulous view can be seen out of every room in the house, including the Alaska mountain range, Chugach range, volcanoes, and Cook Inlet.

Close enough to enjoy the City of Anchorage but far enough away to feel like you have gotten away from it all! Close to hiking and skiing trails and the Alaska Zoo, Althetic Club, or the golf course. The location is about 20 minutes from the Airport or downtown, and 5 minutes from the Seward Highway (access to the Kenai Peninsula to the south and all points north). Owners live next door and would be happy to share stories or provide advice for sightseeing opportunities.

We chose this location for our home and your vacation rental, because it is situated on a relatively large (2.5 acre) secluded property, close enough to the activities, culture, and our jobs in the City of Anchorage, yet far enough away and in the mountains that we feel like we are in the wilderness. There is a fantastic 360 degree view of the mountains; the ocean, hiking and skiing trails are right out our back door; wildlife such as moose, bear, lynx, coyote, owls, hawks, rabbits, and birds frequent our property every day. We just love living here!

What makes this apartment unique

Some of the unique benefits you will enjoy while staying at our property are the same benefits as the reasons we chose to live here ourselves. The unique wilderness setting combined with the closeness to the City of Anchorage, the airport, and the highway access to the famed Kenai Peninsula. The evening sunsets over Cook Inlet and views of the mountains and volcanoes beyond. Plus, all the comforts of a modern home, including wireless internet, cable TV, BBQ grille, and full kitchen and laundry facilities. Plus new friends right next door! Welcome! Near the City, with a Country Feel

I thought this apartment deserved a great review. I was concerned prior to arrival when there were no recent reviews. This place has it all...outstanding views of snowcapped mountains and golden sunsets out every window. There's easy access to green areas and a nature trail from the backyard. The apartment is clean and the carpets appear to be new. It's a very open space, which was nice for our family. Even while preparing meals, I was part of the conversation taking place in the living area. All that, and the price is right!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

What a perfect place! We had family from 4 diffrent places across the country, all gathered for a week of celebrating a wedding and enjoying a reunion. Your home was a beautiful, comfortable place for us ALL! We even had an extra treat of seeing a fat, glossy, black bear, ramble through the yard! Thank you for sharing your home with us!

Thanks Kim and Mike for a lovely home-away-from-home in Alaska. Loved the awesome weather and neverending days. A perfect escape from the hot hot summer of Dubai. Spotting a moose in the backyard on the very first mornign set the right mood for our trip.. Also, the silver smoked salmon was very good. Thanks for everything. Hope to see you guys again sometime.
