Location cannot be beat. The house is right downtown but on a quiet street just off of the beaten path. Off-street parking. The house has anything that you will need but is not cluttered w/ owners belongings as it is used only for a vacation rental. It has so much character and you will immediately feel comfortable when you arrive. It's spotlessly clean. No product smells. No permanent residence ever but you will feel like it's your home immediately when arriving. Very comfortable and location is perfect for families, couples or single person. Dine with wine and walk home. There is something for everyone within one only 2 blocks from home. The free Island Explorer Shuttle Bus will take you anywhere else that you'd like to go on Mount Desert Island even the Bar Harbor airport.
My husband has a small lobster boat and will take you lobster fishing with him if you'd like. Just ask him when you arrive and (if conditions permit), he will be happy to take you. You will also be able to keep enough lobsters for yourself (if you desire and if the catch is enough and usually is) and the back yard is equipped for you to cook them outside. Please read reviews. The Lobster fishing trip is in beautiful Somes Sound and is only a little over an hour and free for my guest!
Guestbook Comments about location: 6/24/13 April, one week is not enough. You are a very good landlord and provide a great old house that is well stocked and has a terrific location. Hope to stay here again. Ft. Laudrdale, FL.
6/7/13 April, Hopefully next year there will be more days open to stay in the house. Thank you for letting us stay at the 'little blue House' at 15 Federal. We love it here! Kohler, WI. (from a 12 yr. old).
5/717/13 April, we so enjoyed this perfect location! We were able to walk all over this delightful town. Plus being on a quiet street was a bonus from other places we had stayed. After a day of hiking, biking, kayaking, sleepis precious and we loved the quiet nights surrounding this house. With two couples it was great to be able to spread out!! We hope to come back again soon. Thanks again for this delightful 'home away from home'. Scott, La.
9/29/13 The house was so comfortable and welcoming when we arrived after 3 flights. Hope to return soon. Denver, CO.

Aug. 9, 2008 April, thanks for a lovely stay! We very much enjoyed staying here...the proximity to downtown can't be beat! Your home had everything that we needed. Our 3 yr. old called it 'our house' all week. The communication and instructions were very helpful right up until our arrival. The opera House Cafe became a daily ritual for us. Lovely place! Hudson NH
Aug. 16, 2008 April, we all had a wonderful time in Bar Harbor and especially staying in a charming house that is so convenient to everything. We've been to Bar Harbor before but having such a great base of operations made this stay the very best. Huntington Beach, CA
More Guestbook Comments on location: 2008 April, We had a wonderful week here at your house. We loved the location being so close to town and not having to drive in and find a parking spot. We all left very happy and relaxed. CT, CT and VA.
July 21, 2007 We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Bar Harbor. The town is full of character and Acadia National Park is beautiful no matter what the weather is. Coming home to 15 Federal Street was the icing on the cake...so central yet so tranquil. Wales, United Kingdom
June 23, 2013 One would be hard pressed to find a rental house to match the beauty of Acadia and Bar Harbor, but this lovely home was up to the task. Thanks for providing such a space for our comfort and enjoyment. The house made the experience so much more special! New Paltz, N.Y, Eatontown, NJ and Brooklyn.
We stayed at april's Bar Harbor Downtown Home during the week of July 4th. We literally couldn't have picked a more perfect spot for my family and I. I stayed at april's with my husband, 9 year old daughter, and parents. The location itself couldn't be more perfect. At april's, we were a short walk to everything which was great for us since we had different interests and abilities. April's home is on a quiet street, yet, at the heart of everything. The home itself was very quaint, cozy, comfortable, and equipped with everything we needed. My mom, who is a wonderful cook and tended to spend more time than the rest of us in the kitchen, mentioned on more one occasion that april thought of everything to make sure we were comfortable. By the end of the trip, we fell in love with not only Bar Habor/Acadia but also this home. Speaking of acadia, the Island Explorer was womderful and only a few blocks away. April went out of her way to answer questions and offer suggestions. Per her suggestion, we hiked the Precipice, which was my husband's absolute favorite thing we did and we did a lot. This home has a wonderful essence. We would absolutely recommend to others.
I love to hike, bike and take good care of my guest. I've hiked and biked every trail on the Island and love helping guest when choosing the right trail for them to take when planning a hike or bike ride. I take pride in making my guest as comfortable as possible for their vacation.
My husband, Bruce and I picked out Bar Harbor on the map after sailing for six months as a place to come and spend the summer in 1980. We both loved it so much that we decided to make it our home. We purchased two homes on Federal St. and live in one and use the other this one as a weekly rental. I love meeting all of the guest that come in from all over and I do as much as possible to make their stay a happy, comfortable and memorable one.
My husband has a 5 trap recreational lobster fishing license. He is 77 years old and loves to take guest out with him to check his 5 traps. If conditions permit and you ask him to take you, he would love it. The entire trip only takes 1 1/2 hr. The trip is in beautiful Somes Sound and it is so much fun. It's complimentary and you will get to keep some lobsters if you's like. We have a picnic table in the back yard and a lobster pot to cook them with.

Nestled between Cadillac and Dorr Mountain in Bar Harbor, Maine, Kebo is a spectacular 6,131 yard, classic link and parkland golf course.
