A real bargain with privacy on the vineyard - come visit!! Musts: Absolutely NO PETS please, no seasonal summer or year-round rentals - weekly only, ONE WEEK MINIMUM and MAXIMUM 2-3 weeks - FIRM except from 10/15-4/30 will rent for the 6 month winter season (lower rates you pay utils). 750 sq ft, 2 bedroom, 1 bath home in private, wooded area. Modestly furnished with good quality used furniture. Kitchen basics - silver, pots/pans. 30 ft decks from master bedroom and living room with basic sit-up chairs/table, charcoal BBQ (bring own beach chairs if desired). Washer/dryer. NO WIFI. Location: About 7-10 miles from ferry docks. 1/2 mile off W. Tisbury Rd on bumpy Edgartown dirt road. 3 1/2 miles to South beach (scenic public beach) and 2 1/2 miles to Edgartown center. Easy access to bike paths. Maximum occupancy is 4. Perfect for easy going guests who want a good value; many repeat customers! ABSOLUTELY NO PETS OR SEASONAL/YR ROUND rentals! Need prior rental references/experience!

Things we don't have: Wi-fi (most people head into Edgartown to a local cafe for it), dishwasher

We don't take credit cards. We take bank checks or postal money orders for payment. :)

Notes: 1 queen bed, 2 twin beds. Charcoal BBQ grill; 19 Inch cable TV, DVD, VCR, washer dryer (no dishwasher). 30 foot deck in private wooded area towards the end of a dirt road with many year round residents. Sliders from living/dining room and master bedroom to deck. This a basic, modest rental. It is a year-round 2brm home with decent quality used furniture, dishes, pots/pans etc It is reasonably clean and comfortable. Our many repeat renters are easy going renters seeking a real bargain (not those who wish for a spotless, flawless or immaculate accomodation). Absolutely FIRM no pets (please do not ask)! We are not unfortunately able to take credit card payments at this time.

Great Value for a Family Visit

This was the third time at the Vineyard and the first at this house. I won't have to look any further on my next visits. The house is quiet and secluded at the end of a dirt road yet accessable to the bus system for those without a car. We love to drive everywhere and this was a great home base to visit the beaches and lighthouses. So close to Edgartown center you can walk there as well as to the Stop and Shop supermarket. The owners are very nice and easy to communicate with and the property was very clean. This house made the island adventure very affordable for my family who would much rather spend money on adventure rather than sitting in a five-star resort and not seeing the sights. The house is modest in size but ample for family of four with a full kitchen and laundry facilities which is import so you don't have to overpack. Be sure to stop at Edgartown Pizza and make sure you check out the Black Dog locations for their bakery as well as their clothing line (outlet in Oak Bluffs next to their regular store). Flying Horses Carosel in Oak Bluffs is a must for kids. The beaches we liked most were State Beach in Oak Bluffs and East Beach on Chappiquiddick. If you are there in the summer, you must catch a performance by the Vineyard Sound, a college a cappella group that performs five times a week for donations.

I co-rent with a fellow fisherman from Vegas who makes his pilgrimage East in May to fish the Vineyard waters. The property is ideally located to some of the best fishing spots on the Island w/o having to contend with traffic. If one does not mind a dirt road and seeing deer and other animals in the area, this is a great location and an outstanding value. We have rented on the Vineyard for many years at several properties but this has been our choice for the last 4 years. Not to be overlooked is the service by the most congenial owners who really care about their renter's well being.

Great Value!

We have stayed in this house for several summers with our two young children. After staying at other locations on the island throughout the years, we have always come back here. Although the house is small, it is located in one of the best spots on Martha's Vineyard; close to the bike path, beaches, and center of Edgartown. Enjoy a short walk to Morning Glory Farm or continue into town (all via the bike path which is located at the end of the street- having two young children this is an asset!). Modest furniture, cozy, and has all the basic amenities you need. We also enjoy the privacy it has to offer, situated on a wooded lot. This home is a very affordable way to experience the joy of Martha's Vineyard!

Best on the Island

Over the years I have stayed in various places on Martha's Vineyard. My only regret is that I did not find this rental a lot sooner. Since my trips to the island are just to fish I spend very little time in any rental other than to sleep. When it comes to the "bangs for the bucks" this rental is the absolute best. The same holds true for the owner /landlady who is just great to do business with. And over the years i've had to do business with some that should be out of the rental business completely. This pleasurable rental just makes my 2 annual visits much more enjoyable.
