Sandy Beach & Ocean Views:
A walking path down to the water's edge and stairs onto the shore provide easy access to the sandy beach. Walking path is about 700 feet from the house to the beach. The path is lined with trees, tall grasses, beach roses, and wildflowers, and it has a view of the 'Spark Plug' lighthouse. The stairs onto the beach have built-in bench seats at the top landing where you can sit and take in the 180 degree views of the lighthouse, Campobello Island, West Quoddy Head, Grand Manan Island, and out to sea. Walk along the sandy beach to the salt water creek in one direction and around the craggy point onto the Lubec Sand Bar Wildlife Sanctuary in the other direction. Eagles often perch on the point, just below the stairs to the water. At high tide, seals swim by looking for food and fun. Beach provides sandy areas for walking and collecting sea glass, rocky ledges for sunning, and tide pools for exploring. A sweet spot!
