Quiet charm

Just back from a week in this charming cabin in the quiet middle of Mt Desert Island. The place was spotless and had almost everything we needed for our family of three to have a perfect vacation. From the peaceful mornings in the Adirondack chairs in back to the quiet evenings with all the windows open to enjoy the crisp Maine air - I highly recommend this cabin! The location, layout etc were exactly as advertised. The only maintenance issue of concern was that one set of blinds in the master BR are missing; our family goes to be at wildly different times and the early-to-bed had living room light pouring in, plus changing clothes privately was a trick. (We did not request a repair, and they may have fixed by now.) I bought a corkscrew for the kitchen, otherwise it was stocked as well as we needed. But, these are minor minor details. We would go back in a heartbeat! Thanks Steve and Rose for having us.
As for the area, we enjoyed eating in Southwest Harbor (Beal's for lobsters, Quietside Cafe for a quick lunch and AMAZING pies!). The market up 102 in Town Hill makes good sandwiches and good browsing as well. Bar Harbor is probably more enjoyable when it's not peak tourist season, but Mt Desert Ice Cream (adjacent to the village green/bus station) is not to be missed. On the other side of the green, we enjoyed quick lunches at Tamarind, rarely too crowded and a decent selection. But we spent most of our time in Acadia. Loved the area, loved our vacation, loved our little cabin. Thanks again!
To whom would I recommend the property? Anyone with a car. My 18yo probably would have enjoyed himself a bit more if he could have gone wandering without parents now and then - a bit isolated for that when he's too young to drive the rental car and not on the bus line. But perfect for younger children, with a nice fenced playground and separately fenced deck. A sweetheart of a dog and two wandering roosters were fun touches.
