A wrap porch, from which you can look over the island of Chappaquiddick to the right, then gaze to the left to look over Cape Cod. Wake to the beautiful sunrise on the sound. It still enriches me and starts my day right.

What makes this cottage unique

Walk along the beach or sidewalk or through the parks to get to the main street of town in mi utes. Jump on the bike path to bike or blade five miles along the beautiful state beach to the next town. The house is located within the historic district and is a waterfront property within a minutes walk to the beach and an under 10 minute walk into town past several lovely parks. the marina is in the downtown area and has outdoor restaurants, entertainment,and charter boat activities.

Farm Neck golf course (18 hole) is a two minute drive. Farm Neck Preserve conservation lands walking trails begin half mile from house. Town with best day and night life a 6 minute walk. Great restaurants & shops. Oak Bluffs is FUN!! Safe swimming beach one minute walk to Nantucket Sound. Ocean swimming at Katama, under ten minute drive. Bike trail, rollerblading, begins just past house and continues between 2 bodies of water along rose-strewn path, 6 miles to Edgartown, an elegant , formerly whaling captains town.

Other Activities: Nature preserves and walking trails short walk from house.

Kayak rentals available a mile up the road for exploring Sengekontacket pond.

Golf: Farm Neck Golf course, 18 holes. Private but with some public play. Great dining room, a favorite amongst locals for lunch and discrete people- spotting. Lots of shaded parking and magnificent hydrangeas.

Mink Meadows Golf course, vineyard haven, four miles away, is a public course within lots of woods.

AMAZING!

Every year my friends and I spend at least one weekend in Martha's Vineyard enjoying all the island has to offer. However, this year was slightly different for me for the home I originally intended to rent was double booked. In a state of panic (the ferry tickets were purchased, etc), I started calling every rental possible of which I was denied due to the short weekend stay. Then I called Thea Hansen, a lovely and charming woman who graciously rented me and my friends her home. When we arrived at this beautiful home, not only were we amazed by the character of the home itself, but the view it offered!! Unfortunately it rained the entire weekend, but we did not care for we did not want to leave this house!!

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND RENTING THIS HOUSE!!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

Jeanine sent this nice note after a 2 week stay that included a horrific storm which took down a telephone pole. I saw MY phone pole being worked on during the storm on CNN, as CNN was around for President Obamas visit, and I guess President Obama was staying indoors for this storm!

Just returned from a wonderful week in July

The location could not be better - we enjoyed walking to town for coffee each morning, nightly strolls and incredible views from almost every window. We live on the water year round so it takes a lot to get us excited but this home did it. Owner was quick to return security deposit and home was exactly as represented. More room that we needed and while we didn’t do much cooking - the kitchen is well equipped for a large family. Only issue we had was the week went by too quickly. We also had the good fortune of being there over the 4th of July and saw fireworks all along the coast of Cape Cod from one of the many decks!
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Tourists without a Car, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
