The garden is furnished with tables and chairs to sit and unwind with friends and family. Access to the garden is through the elegant salotto where you can relax, converse or read should the weather be either too warm or on that rare occasion when it may rain. This spacious room is well furnished with comfortable sofas, armchairs, coffee tables and a suite where one can write or play cards, etc. The room also contains a fine Bechstein piano.
The charming dining room with it's handsome art nouveau furniture, ornate frescoed ceiling and beautiful terrazzo floor offers a stylish way to share those memorable vacation meals together. Upstairs there áre also two balconies to view the surrounding hills or just observe daily life in the nearby piazza.

Within two minutes walk you have a large modern chemist, a hairdresser, a pizzeria, a rosticceria, a steakhouse and a popular bar where the older men sit out and play cards most days. Here you can enjoy a glass of wine, a cappuccino, a panino or a pastry. Train and bus tickets are also sold here.
The single track Barga-Gallicano station is just across the square and here a train passes through every hour or so in the direction of Lucca/ Pisa or toward the Garfagnana reaching Aulla in the Lunigiana.
In Barga centre or nearby Fornaci Di Barga you will find a wealth of shops, bars and super restaurants. Recommendations can be made. There is also several antique shops and art galleries in town and indeed Barga is known as City of Art.
The Jonny Moscardini stadium holds various festivals during the summer including the very popular three week Sagra delle Pesci e Patate. This is a festival to celebrate the close connection to Scotland where many of the locals emigrated to in the early 1900's, opening cafes serving fish and chips. Near the stadium is a marvellous public swimming pool with full facilities, tennis courts, horse riding and plenty of beautiful walks to discover. Another quieter pool can be found in Albiano which offers stunning panoramic views of Barga and the Garfagnana.
