Awesome location about a mile from both Bear and Snowshed/Rams Head/Killington Base Lodges. Has 4 rooms and plenty of room for large groups. Sauna + jacuzzi tub. 3 levels. Pictures don't do the house justice
I rented this house for 3 days over NYE. The house was just what we were looking for. The house is spacious and in a great location. And the owner was very helpful, providing recommendations for local restaurants, directions for getting around the area, and even a couple of coupons for discounted ski rentals!
The home was AMAZING!! It was very large and accommodates a leg group comfortably. Very close to the base lodge and easily accessible to killington ski areas, tubing and night life!!!
There is nothing better than taking advantage of the 2 fireplaces after a long day of skiing or boarding!
The surround sound, Sauna, and jacuzzi tub were an added plus!!
Meanwhile the Kitchen was stocked with more than enough utensils and cooking needs.
Bernie was a great host. He was extremely helpful in giving us information for our stay, but not being too invasive. His home was our home for the few days that we stayed and we all felt TRULLY comfortable!!
Only wish he would have left a local area map for us along with the rental coupons which he did provide... But Bernie seems the type who would not hesitate to do so for a guest if they ask prior to arrival. We will deff be back soon and recommend this home for family's or young adults!!!!
Take advantage of this home you will love it!!!
This house is very comfortable for our group of adults and teenagers. The house is clean and well maintained. It is very easy to get to Bear Mountain base from this house.
We have rented two years in a row now and look forward to spending our New Year's at this house.
Bernie is very easy to work with. He responds quickly and is very professional with his lease and returning the deposit quickly. I would recommend this house as a great find.
I've spent the past several holidays at this house, and find it a comfortable, clean home-away-from home. The description of the sleeping arrangements and photographs were accurate, and accommodated my family and friends. The property was clean upon arrival, the linens and towels adequate and no different from those in other hotels/condos that I've rented. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows. Bernie was prompt when responding to our inquiries, and the instructions for how to use the appliances and fireplace clear.
The property's location between the Bear Mountain and Snowshed/K1/Ramshead base lodges was convenient and allowed the different skier abilities of our group to come/go with ease.
In the several years my family and I have stayed at this property, we have not encountered any issues as described by the previous reviewer. I would (and have) recommend this property to others looking for a homey home-base for their ski excursions.
I am not one to write bad reviews-but I am not going to be quiet about how we were treated after renting from him
He is refusing to refund our security deposit-His reasons:
1-That we destroyed the microwave.
All we did was put a potato in and then hit the sensor for Baked Potato. It was basically on fire and still cooking. This is not our fault. Sounds like his sensor in the microwave was bad. His lease states "That the Tenant shall maintain the leased premises in a clean condition; the Tenant shall be responsible for all damages, breakage, waste, and / or loss to The premises, except for normal wear and tear and unavoidable casualty which may result from occupancy-
I would consider this an unavoidable casualty. His house is outdated with older appliances. I am afraid to think that if the washer or the Fridge broke while we were there that we would need to replace that as well
2-He also claims that we some of the wires on the stereo system/record player were removed and incorrectly installed.
I am not sure where he is coming up with this. We never touched the stereo/record player. Our kids are older and have Ipods and Iphones and had no desire to listen to 33 records. My husband installs home theater and whole house audio for a living. I think if we unplugged them we would know what we are doing.
I tried to explain all of this to him and he is unresponsive.
I was disappointed in the overall misrepresentation with his house.
1-said it was a 4 bedroom. The one bedroom was a loft making this a 3 bedroom house
2-The Trundle beds were rusted & held together by wire and one of the kids ended up cutting him self 2X!
3-He advertised a grill-when we got there we could not find it-I asked him and he said due to the weather there will be no grill. we had brought food to grill with us
4-He advertised that Linens were provided-they were small little towels that we had to wash to use again. I would not call them Bath towels-more like hand towels
5-Everytime someone took a shower his house started smelling like a sewer system. We had to open the doors for the odor to clear out. I did e-mail him about this issue when we were there-but he said he did not smell it
6-he advertised that the house was cleaned by a cleaning crew-However there was cob webs and even spiders in the showers and a toddler found a lighter in the sofa
I feel like he was reaching just to keep the deposit and something tells me I am not the first one he did this too-
