Besides excellent swimming in its crystal waters,Converse Bay offers exciting sailing in the prevailing offshore winds. Feel free to bring a sail or powerboat with you. Garden Island's mooring facilities will accommodate either. Lake Champlain is known for great fishing, particularly along the rocky shores and Island ledges. Excellent swimming, sailing, golf, tennis, riding, historic excursions, shopping, fine restaurants, nightlife all less than one-half hour away. A quick and easy expressway drive from New York up I-87, or across New England on I-89; or a short flight into Burlington's modern, efficient, small-town airport. Lake Champlain is known for great fishing, particularly along the rocky shores and Island ledges. The depth of water in the nearby 'big lake' drops off to deeper than 350 feet, so there's plenty of chances to land that prize catch. All of the fun on Garden Island isn't on Garden Island. Sometimes you need to get away from the most tranquil setting. At Garden Island getting away is as easy as calling the private launch and having it transport you the 500 yards to the mainland dock. No need to worry about the launch's schedule. It operates when you want it to.
