3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 6 max., 1st floor master bedroom

Come and enjoy a truely quintessential Nantucket vacation. 'Escape Hatch', our oceanfront 'cottage of yesteryear' has been a family treasure for 70 years. The southern exposure combined with the 180 degree unobstructed panoramic view of dunes & ocean is truely tonic for the year. Let the sounds of the surf wash your troubles away. Meticulously maintained but with modern conveniences, this 1920's 'Beach Cottage' will transport you back to old Nantucket.

The 'studio finish' cottage consists of 1st floor living room with fireplace, cathedral ceiling and view of ocean. Formal dining room with seating for 6-8. Oceanfront enclosed sun porch with fabulous view. Working kitchen with ample counter space. Master bedroom with full bed, ocean view & private bath with shower over tub. Laundry area with full size W & D and ample linens. Plus hall bath with shower over tub.

Off the second floor balcony, overlooking the living room, are two bedrooms each with two twin bed.

A red brick walkway leads from the street through a white picket fence with arbor to the irrigated lawn with assorted flower beds with lily of the valley, daffidils, blue hydrangeas, black eyed susans, scotch broom, and pink roses on trellis. The ocean side of the cottage has a ground level deck with teak table and chairs plus a red brick patio with BBQ and outside shower. Follow the private boardwalk path from the yard through the dunes to the beach 800' in front. No need to get in your car and drive to the beach! Lifeguards are only 500' up the beach. Seasonal shuttle bus and bike path to town are only a three minute walk away, with the heart of town only 2.5 miles away by; car, bus, taxi, bike or foot. ENJOY!!!

We have beach chairs & beach towels, local phone service, TV / DVD, A/C units and Wi-Fi.

Escape Hatch cottage is truely 'on the beach' it is not across the street or down the road from the beach. Walk on private boardwalk through the dunes to the ocean 800' in front of cottage.
