This is a uniquely beautiful property: Finding a home with historic character and located in a beautiful setting is very rare. We're close to everything yet there's a feeling of privacy as well. The house is spacious enough for everyone to be comfortable; there are three indoor sitting areas and four patios.
Truly a Wellfleet experience, our property has the flavor of the town, a quintessential New England village. There are modern amenities and antique details throughout the house.
Our guests have told us they love the location because there are so many options for activities, many within walking distance, or easily accessible by bike or car. There are nine restaurants, dozens of shops and galleries, fish markets, produce stands, grocery store, the marina, golf, tennis, a newly renovated skate park, ball park, and so much more. Take in the natural beauty on foot, by bike or boat. Fresh water ponds are within one mile and salt water beaches are within one (bay) to two miles (ocean).
Welcome back to your summer home. Our property is chemical-free; our garden is organic. In the home, we use all-natural and eco-friendly products. Being sustainable matters to us and we believe it makes a difference for you too.

Thanks to all who've provided such great feedback. We love hearing from you and are constantly at work to improve the property. Our gardens are a continuing work in progress. We've added granite steps down to the field and many new plantings. We are also converting one of the original outbuildings on the property into a studio/meditation area. We are upgrading our washer/dryer, dishwasher, range, and entertainment components this year. Our goal is to make your vacation as trouble-free and enjoyable as possible. As we move into 2005, we wish all of you a peaceful new year and great vacationing!
I'm a landscape contractor and my husband, Scot, is a radome technician. Beyond our work, we combine our passion for design, architecture, landscaping, and sustainability right here at home.
In our down time, we enjoy cooking, reading, swimming, surfing, biking, running, hiking, photography, and traveling together.
We fell in love with the property's character and the rambling nature of the house's layout the first time we saw it. We were excited about the possibilities the land offered and we liked the Southern exposure and the sweeps of meadow below the house.
There's so much space, both indoors and out, that relaxing and finding comfortable space is effortless. The house is set up to be inviting and easy to care for. We have decorated and furnished it to be unlike any other house and to enhance the antique details without being stiff or too precious.
One thing we always convey to our guests is that the house has stood for 238 years, seen hundreds of visitors and dozens of residents. It has been, at different times, home to a seafaring captain and his family, a rooming house, and a stage coach stop. It has had successful renovations and some that weren't so well thought out. It was extensively renovated in the 70's and became a 'modern' year round home with central heating and proper bathrooms. Throughout all of this, it has retained its personality and whit. We continue to make improvements, doing much of the work ourselves, from restoring plaster walls to refinishing floors. We believe everything we do should be a step toward restoration rather than renovation.
We want your experience to be one of a kind- the family's summer home- where you come together with friends and family and simply unwind.
