Experience the ideal retreat, located in the heart of Wellfleet. The house, circa 1774, is full of warmth, with wide pine floors, fireplaces, and many of the original details. Relax in comfort in one of three living areas or cook up a feast in the large well-equipped kitchen. Retire to one of five bedrooms, each with a distinct style. Stroll the grounds to gather flowers and vegetables, pick fresh berries, or play lawn games in the grassy meadow. Sip your morning coffee under the shade trees, sunbathe in privacy in the afternoon, slip outside to enjoy the quiet intimacy of the gardens as evening falls. Cable/HBO, DVD/VCR, DSL Internet connection, stereo, W/D, linens provided, additional galley kitchen, outdoor shower, propane grill, canoe, parking for up to 5 cars. Close walking distance to restaurants, markets, art galleries, shops, the harbor and bay beaches, our critically-acclaimed theatre (Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theatre, W.H.A.T.), the Baker's Field Recreation Area (skate park, softball/baseball, tennis, basketball, playground, a terrific rec program for the kids, and weekly live music). A very short drive to ocean beaches, surfing, sailing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, fresh-water kettle ponds, golf, boat rentals, birdwatching, mini-golf and so much more.

This is a uniquely beautiful property.: Finding large homes with huge yards right in town is not easy, but that's just what you'll find here. We're close to everything yet there's a feeling of privacy as well. The house is spacious enough for everyone to be comfortable; there are three indoor sitting areas and three patios. Truly a Wellfleet experience, our property has the flavor of the town, a quintessential New England village. There are modern amenities and antique details throughout the house. Our guests have told us they love the location because there are so many options for activities, many within walking distance, or easily accessible by bike or car. There are nine restaurants, dozens of shops and galleries, fish markets, produce stands, grocery store, the marina, golf, tennis, a newly renovated skate park, ball park, and so much more. Take in the natural beauty on foot, by bike or boat. Fresh water ponds are within one mile and salt water beaches are within one (bay) to two miles (ocean).

Welcome back to your summer house.: In the past couple of years, we have been reshaping our land to include a terraced 25+ tree orchard and a small working greenhouse. We've added a bee hive and we're building a natural pond for wildlife. Our property is chemical-free, our garden is organic. In the home, we use all-natural and eco-friendly products. Being sustainable matters to us and we believe it makes a difference for you too. We offer the opportunity to experience a different way to vacation, one that includes the beauty of our natural surroundings, the richness of a historic home, and the comfort of a well-dressed room. Beautiful historic house in Weelfleet

We had planned a family reunion on the Cape and had been looking for a large house that was close to one of the town centres on the outer Cape. This house in Wellfleet was wonderful. There was enough space that we could congregate comfortably around the dinning table, but then equally it was possible to find a quite corner if you needed a little privacy.

The house is full of character due to its historic nature, but then is also equipped with all the modern conveniences.

The location was ideal as it is no more than a 5 minute walk to the local grocery store, fish market, fruit and vegetable stands and all of the restaurants in Wellfleet.

In general it was an ideal house for larger groups looking to pursue multiple activities.
