Let's start right out the back door, for the kids we have running, playing and digging in the huge yard and surrounding fields, or you can walk or ride your bikes down the % mile private driveway to see the animals at the farm. The surrounding area is known as Northern Pines there is 4 - 5 miles interconnected dirt roads perfect for walking, jogging or mountain bike riding. Bikes can hook up with an island wide trail system. About 1/3 mile from the house is our private beach on Lake Tashmoo, which is a mile long tidal estuary, connected to Vineyard Sound on the Northern Side of the Island. Tashmoo is a great place to swim or go for a row in our rowboat; a rental firm in town can deliver a Sunfish or Hobbie Cat, which are great fun to sail. One can also purchase a shellfish license and pursue clams along the shore and on the tidal flats near our beach. A short row out to the opening in the evening yields a great picnic and fishing spot with famous sunsets.
